Cornerstone Door Company is a family owned and operated business which has been serving Middle Tenneessee for over 24 years. We were first licensed in 1994. Prior to then, brothers, Jim and Larry, managed and provided service for the garage door division of Mastercraft Home Improvement from 1977 until its owner retired in 1993. With this background between them, they have a combined total of more than 70 years experience in the garage door industry. As Cornerstone has grown over the years, we have been able to expand and establish a loyal customer base. More of our family members have become involved and we are grateful to be able to say that even during the past economic turmoil, our business continued to grow. We look forward to earning the trust of more homeowners in the Middle Tennessee area and appreciate the opportunity to serve.

We had cameras and an alarm system installed; it was a relatively large system. They outsource most of the work to various vendors. They could not manage their vendors; what was supposed to take a week took two months. The sales rep did not return calls, and you could never get anyone in management on the phone. Random people would show up at unannounced times. The few things that an actual Guardian employee did were they made a huge mess of our newly remodeled office and were rude to our staff. We have offices in five markets across the US and have high security at each; we have never had such a poor experience."

The most secure lock for a front door is typically a deadbolt. There are many types of deadbolts to choose from, the most basic of which is the standard single-cylinder deadbolt. This is the lock you find installed on most front doors.   • You need a quick way to upgrade your current locks

  • You have a quality lock that works well

  • You recently moved in and want to ensure you’re the only one with access

  • You lost a key

Lock picking is a relatively subtle method of unauthorized access, making it hard to detect. But there are telltale signs to look for. First, look for scratches or tool marks around the keyhole or the lock's surface. Also, check for loose or misaligned components, like a wonky strike plate, which could indicate tampering. Consulting a locksmith or security professional for an assessment can provide valuable insights, too. Investing in high-quality locks and considering additional security measures, like security cameras, can help deter potential intruders and enhance your overall safety.

If part of the key is protruding out of the lock, you can use a pair of needle-nosed pliers or tweezers to gently turn the key in the lock to open the door. If the key is fully inserted into the lock, you may also be able to use a key extractor to help turn the key into the unlocked position. 

But if the key breaks off halfway into the lock or you simply can’t reach it to help engage the unlocking mechanisms, you should probably call a professional.

There’s no set time limit for when you should replace your locks, but there are several indicators that it’s time to swap them. If you’re moving into a new home or have a roommate moving out, it’s smart to change the locks. If you experience a break-in or other crime, you should change it then too, or if you ever lose your keys. Eventually, locks can wear out, so it’s ideal to replace them after several years of use or one of these circumstances occurs.
