"We had them do 3 bathrooms. This was no small task as we removed part of one wall and removed a pass-through closet; however, in one week they were able to install 2 bathtubs and tub to ceiling wall system, a shower and floor to ceiling wall system, plus all the ceiling and wall drywall fixes necessary. The materials come from the great state of Texas and feel solid. There is a franchise in South Dakota now, which made the process so easy. The sub-contractor was very detailed oriented and a perfectionist, what every homeowner needs for a bathroom area, where water can cause some expensive issues. The local salesperson/co-owner is intimately involved in the whole process. At this point the project has been done for 2 days and we are very happy. Additional updates may be made as time goes."

"I had a few items that I wanted them to look at.  The first was to put in a sump pump in my existing sump basket and then I wanted them to look at what it would take to help a cold crawlspace.
The sump pump options were from the basement to the penthouse (pun intended).  However even the basement was more than I needed.
As far as the crawlspace, they also have multiple options but each included full encapsulation.  I think encapsulation is a wonderful option if you have issues with moisture causing mold as well as high radon.  However in my situation I did not have issues with either of those and the only issue that I wanted to resolve was the cold in the winter.
I instead called a insulation company and had them come in and seal the Rim Joist and I will see if I need to take it further.
I still have their information and if I want to continue down the path of encapsulation I will be reaching out to them to discuss.
One thing that I found weird is if you search online in the MN area for other crawlspace encapsulation it may give you different company names but the phone number is exactly the same.  So there must be some sort of  "umbrella" company that based on what you are looking for either basement renovation, insulation or crawlspace encapsulation they point you to the correct company.  What this does unfortunately is prevents you from getting a valid second opinion from another source.

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

The order of your bathroom renovation should prevent damage to the completed work. Start with demolition and removing the old fixtures. Then, address structural repairs or water damage, if needed. Next, tackle the rough-in phase for plumbing and electrical work, install waterproofing, and work on wall treatments like tile or paint. Install your shower or bathtub, toilet, vanity, and sink. Flooring goes in after major fixtures but before the toilet. Lastly, install new lighting fixtures, mirrors, and other finishing touches as desired.

The impact of a walk-in tub on home value depends on various factors, including market demand, demographic preferences, and overall home features. While some buyers may view it as a desirable accessibility feature, others might see it as a niche amenity, potentially limiting the pool of interested buyers. However, it could add value if the walk-in tub meets specific needs or enhances the property's appeal to a target demographic. Ultimately, its effect on home value varies case by case, with factors like installation quality, design, and neighborhood trends playing roles in determining its impact.

You can put a structure under your bathtub for support. Many modern tubs come with a built-in support structure underneath. Almost any type of mortar or floor-leveling compound is acceptable for new bathtubs that don’t include a support structure.

You can also install spray foam under an existing bathtub to eliminate or reduce squeaking or sagging. However, spray foam isn’t rigid enough for primary tub support.

Yes, you can remove a bathtub yourself if you have previous DIY experience and basic plumbing knowledge. You should have at least one other person help you if you approach this project as a DIY. However, hiring a plumber or bathroom remodeling pro can prevent accidental damage from demolition or water leakage.

Installing a clawfoot tub with a minimum of 6 inches of clearance from surrounding walls allows ample room for the faucet and pipework, makes cleaning easier, and reduces the chance of moisture being trapped between the tub and the walls. It might need to be closer if the faucet comes directly out of the wall.
