"It went very well. First Bob helped me to decide which vinyl plank would be the best choice & I’m so glad I listened to him. Love the flooring as I had it put in my entire home. Everyone came on time, completely prepped everything, including removing appliances & anything else that needed to go temporarily, as well as putting everything back. Took about a week to complete but the Creative Flooring Crew was punctual & professional & did what they promised. I have received many compliments on my floor when family & friends come to visit. Highly recommend Creative Flooring Designs for competitive pricing, honesty & professionalism. You can’t go wrong with this local company. ?"

"Called FloorTech of SC after carpet installer I initially hired, backed out. Initial installer (names withheld) came to look at the job with 3 helpers and told me he couldn't do the job, because it was going to take more that 1 day. This left me desperate! I found FloorTech of SC on Angie's List, called them and the owner showed up within 2 hours to look at the job. I needed the job done quickly, so FloorTech of SC came out on a Sunday (owner and 1 helper) and finished the job in about 3.5 hours. Very reasonable price, too! I will hire them for all my flooring needs! Thank you John for bailing me out and getting the job done!"

"From the very beginning, I was impressed with Dillon. He returned my calls promptly and arrived at my home at the scheduled times. He and his team (David, Brandon, and Brandon) were amazing. They arrived on time--every time--and worked consistently. Everyone was friendly, polite, hard-working, and professional. They were extremely careful when moving my furniture and even took photos so they could replace everything to the proper locations. Because they sawed, drilled, and painted almost all of the wood outside, there was little dust throughout the house. They also vacuumed many times throughout the project and left my home immaculate. They removed all of the linoleum and old carpeting and disposed of it. I felt that the price was fair considering the amount of work that was involved. I would highly recommend Dillon and his team to anyone!"

Carpet Stretching questions, answered by experts

Vacuum regularly, clean spills promptly, and schedule professional deep cleaning annually.

Your room doesn’t need to be completely empty to restretch a carpet, but you’ll need enough space that you can move around furniture to access the wrinkled areas and the wall where you’re reattaching the carpet. A contractor will move your furniture out of the way before they start the job, but you can save money by moving your furniture before they arrive.

Carpet stretching can be a worthwhile investment to increase the lifespan of your carpet and eliminate unsightly wrinkles, ridges, and ripples. For an older carpet that is in relatively good condition aside from some wrinkling or bubbling, restretching can make it look like new and extend its life by at least a couple of years. You should consider restretching when you notice looseness or other related issues.

However, it's important to note that stretching will not fix issues like stains, wear in the pile, or discoloration. Consider replacing the carpet instead if the repair cost is more than 50% of the price of a new one. Additionally, if your carpet is past its expected lifespan of five to 15 years, or if it has been stretched multiple times already, replacement is likely a better option.

The life span of carpet in a home with children and animals depends on factors like the carpet material’s quality, how frequently you clean and maintain it, and the level of foot traffic. On average, carpets need to be replaced every five to 15 years. Signs of wear, matting, or persistent odors may indicate that it's time to contact a local flooring company to replace your carpet.

You may be able to use super glue in a pinch to fix your carpet, but expect the repair to last only a short time. Super glue isn't designed for carpet, so over time, it'll break down, and the carpet piece will move out of place. For the best results, go to the store and grab a bottle of carpet seam glue.
