He gets here immediately to give a quote and work is performed within the week. He came and assessed the down branches that I had from the hurricane and quickly got it set up to mulch them. Saved me numerous trips to the dump. I also asked him for a quote to take down 11 trees and was pleasantly surprised with his the amount. He is the best and his prices are more than fair."

After working in the industry for almost 10 years, Ross decided it was time to start out on his own. He has years of experience in managing and running garden centers and outlet stores. He has a wealth of knowledge in sod and turf management.

"I had contacted several companies to give us prices on a patio and a fire pit. I chose Olde Savannah because their price was reasonable and they actually seemed interested in the job. Heather worked with me to design the perfect outdoor patio and fire pit! I was one of those picky customers who made changes throughout the design process, yet Heather remained patient through it all! I had shopped around prior to choosing Olde Savannah. I found their prices to be on the lower side when compared to some of the others; but even more than price, I chose them because they had a great attitude, were professional, and Heather simply had great design ideas which really made for a stunning patio!! Hydroseeding is a great option for sloped yards, as sod might not root as well. Hydroseeding also traditionally creates sprouts faster than normal seeding—up to a full week faster. Additionally, you can customize your slurry mix with hydroseed, allowing you to create a mixture that will work specifically for your yard’s conditions. 

It’s important to remember that hydroseeded lawns require a lot of water during the first few weeks of installation, which can be time-consuming and costly. Additionally, the installation window tends to be shorter than that of sod and traditional grass. 

Artificial turf usually requires some sort of base. If you’re installing the grass over soil, you’ll want to add a weed barrier (weeds can damage your fake grass) and an artificial grass sub-base . Typically, this is a mixture of gravel and sand, like crushed miscellaneous base (CMB) or decomposed granite. If you're placing turf over concrete, you can skip the sub base and use a padded underlayment.

In most cases, it’s better to remove rocks before adding mulch. Layering the two will restrict drainage and plant health, and can create an unpleasant texture underfoot.

Stump grindings are usually safe to use in soil, but in some cases, it’s not recommended. Wood chips in particular can bind nitrogen in the soil, which will make it difficult for grass to grow. That’s why it’s important to remove most wood chips and use healthy garden soil if you want to cover the stump spot with grass. Large wood chips may attract beetles and could encourage the growth of fungi when they decay, so you may want to remove them when using the grindings.
