"Its probably rare that a company would receive a recommendation prior to being hired to perform the work, but that's what's happening with this review. I had the chance to speak w/ a rep for AAGP @ the Taste of CLT this year. That introduction led to a home visit with Chip Phillips, Regional Opps Mngr with AAGP. Chip was very thorough with laying out the history of AAGP, the building quality of the products, AAGP's guaranty, pricing and how AAGP compares to the competition. I was very impressed by Chip and indicated to him (as I did w/ the rep @ Taste of CLT) that while I was not in the market for gutter protection at this exact time, that when I do decide to make that move within the next year to 18 mos., that AAGP is who Ill roll with. Thanks AAGP for all around great intro & an education on gutter protection. See you guys in the near future. Thanks!"

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

Gutter repairs typically cost between $150 and $600. The final price is influenced by several factors, including the extent of the damage, the gutter material type, the accessibility of the damaged area, and the amount of labor required for the fix.

Most repairs take 2-4 hours, but extensive repairs or full section replacements may take an entire day.

Unless you've chosen to install underground downspouts, your gutter downspouts shouldn't touch the ground. If they come into contact with the soil or pavement next to your home, rainwater can back up into them during a storm, preventing them from doing their job effectively. Instead, aim to have your downspouts end about 12 inches from the ground.

The most common problem with gutters is clogging from debris like leaves, blossoms, and seeds from surrounding trees. This debris can block downspouts, leading to improper drainage and water overflow.

Other common issues include:

  • Leaks and holes, which can often be repaired with gutter sealant or caulk.

  • Rust, sagging, or detachment from the roofline.

  • Damage from strong storms.

  • Improperly pitched gutters that don't drain correctly.

Regular cleaning in the spring and fall is the best way to prevent most of these problems. You may need to clean them more often during periods of heavy leaf fall.

Yes, many homeowners find that seamless gutters are worth the investment. Although they have a higher upfront cost than standard gutters—an average of $2,700 compared to $2,000—their benefits often outweigh the price difference. Seamless gutters last longer, require less maintenance, and are less prone to clogs and leaks due to having fewer seams. In contrast, standard gutters typically have seams every 10 feet, which can leak and require new sealant every one to five years. Additionally, seamless gutters are considered more aesthetically pleasing, come in a variety of colors to match your home, and can improve your home's curb appeal and potential value.
