A Full-Service Plumbing Contractor Serving South Carolina: Quick Reliable Plumbing Service When you need us, call us. It’s as simple as that! Modern Plumbing & Backflow has professional plumbers on call around the clock to respond to your plumbing emergencies, large or small.

"This company is dishonest and I would never personally use them again. They padded their prices because our hot water heater was covered under a warranty. Charging insane prices for easy items like insulating the pipes. Then when I asked about the prices, they insulted me and told me they would "pray for me.""

Custom Cabinet Manufacturer and Box Cabinet Distributor. From design to install, we take homeowners and contractors through the whole process.

"Terrible! Awful customer service and cabinet finish! We chose Visionary Cabinetworks for our kitchen remodel as they are a local family run operation with reasonably priced custom cabinets. Unfortunately, we were sold a bill of goods. The owner, Steve Pilgram, along with his wife Kristine were very pleasant and likable in their showroom. But once install began, the true colors of their operations began to show. The cabinets were put in crooked, some were at the wrong heights, and there were huge gaps in the crown molding and trim work. One cabinet didn't arrive with glass doors, even though this was specified on the original design. When asked to come out and fix the install job with skilled laborers, we were repeatedly ignored and lied to. Our General Contractor needed to pay his own carpenter to fix as much as he could. Turns out, the island cabinet drawers had even been installed incorrectly as well; they were misaligned, installed upside down, and knocking/banging against each other. The real trouble began only 2 months later when the cabinet paint started chipping! The kicker is that this is our vacation home thus the kitchen had very little use up until this point!! After a few unanswered emails, we finally got Steve, the owner, to pick up our call using a number he did not recognize and all he did was deny everything and deflect the blame repeatedly. Additionally, he said that our warranty was VOID because our general contractor withheld some money because he had to use his own labor to rectify some of the issues. After that, Steve no longer answered our calls nor replied to our multiple emails or texts. We had a few painters come to give us quotes on repainting the cabinets, and they both told us that the reason the cabinets are chipping is because there was no conversion varnish top coat on the kitchen cabinets and the drawers were installed without the correct spacing, thus they're hitting one another! Buyer Beware, Steve Pilgram and his wife will try to charm you in the store, but don't believe the used car salesman pitch they will try to sell you about their quality craftsmanship and ten year warranty that only a family company can provide. It's all a line of BS as their products and craftsmanship as sub-par and their customer service and warranty is nonexistent. Steve and Kristine sure can tell a lie, but photos don't."

Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel questions, answered by experts

Shower niches can be placed anywhere they will be most accessible for those in the shower. A shower niche should be close enough to the showerhead that it’s convenient to grab products, but not so close that it’s in the direct path of the water. You can also consider the overall shower design and favor symmetry, integrate the niche with the tile design, or hire a bathroom remodeling contractor to help you decide.

While any bathroom remodel has a positive return on investment, an en suite bathroom can significantly increase a home’s resale value. It makes a property more enticing to buyers with families, particularly those with young children. However, keep in mind that at least one of the bathrooms should have a tub.

In many cases, yes, replacing a bathtub with a shower will lower a house's value. Prospective homebuyers, especially families with small children, tend to want at least one bathtub in a home. If you only have one bathroom, it's wise not to remove the tub. If you want the best of both worlds, and your bathroom layout allows for it, consider installing a freestanding bathtub as well as a standalone shower.

Yes, you’ll use a macerator pump to install a basement bathroom without breaking concrete. The purpose of breaking into concrete is to connect the drain pipes to the main sewer line. But a macerator pump will bypass this step and break up solids until they are soft enough to pass through a discharge pipe. That pipe will carry the waste to the sewage line.

Home improvements that increase value not only enhance quality of life but also offer a high return on investment (ROI). Replacing a garage door has one of the best ROIs at 93%. Other high-ROI projects include remodeling your kitchen, installing a stone veneer, and replacing windows. These updates make homes more appealing to buyers and improve functionality, which helps if you plan to sell your home in the future.
