"It went well. One tech dropped and broke one of the new chandelier light all over the floor just an accident. I let them take the old light fixture with bulb ? covers/sconces not realizing I would have to buy a complete 5 bulb set to replace the one accidentally broken to enable for the new light fixture to have matching bulbs and sconces and that was an unexpected extra expense. They also changed out 2 smoke detector batteries In 2 rooms for us as they were too high for me to feel safe doing. I installed the other 5 replacement batteries in the fire/ carbon dioxide alarms as they were not as high. We always greatly appreciated that as that has to be done twice a year. So, overall they did ok and was very friendly."

"This was our second call to B Electric, and with Chris Bundrick specifically. He and his assistant both have done work for us, not only this time, but the previous time as well. The first time i needed some help for my husbands Christmas light obsession. After googling electricians they were the first to get back in touch. We set up the appointment and they were here on time. They replaced an outdoor outlet to ensure my husband was able to safely light up our yard for Christmas, (which is working beautifully btw). On that same trip they also went above and beyond and actually drove clear across town to do some electrical work at my husbands job, and even found the problem, drove to pick up the parts, (That we should have done for them), and brought them back to install them. Price was phenomenal, considering all the extra work, I truly expected it to be exuberant, and that wasn't the case at all. Needless to say, with their professionalism, punctuality, and amazing prices, we called again. The second was for the tripped breaker on Thanksgiving, again quick to respond, efficiently determined our house was safe and wasn't in danger of burning down. Checked my outlets, breakers and even saved my coffee from an untimely death by kitchen sink.....and didn't charge me a thing!! In short, I highly recommend Chris Bundrick at B Electric, and when the Christmas season is over and my husband need more outlets for next year, I sincerely hope they are available.

"I FOUND RH BUILDERS (RUSSELL HOLSENBACK) THROUGH ANGIE'S LIST.  THE FINAL COST WAS A BIT MORE THAN THE ESTIMATE BUT THAT'S ONLY BECAUSE WE DID NOT ORIGINALLY INCLUDE SOME JOBS SUCH AS REMOVING THE WALLPAPER, PAINTING THE WALLS, AND INSTALLING A NEW LIGHT FIXTURE.  RUSSELL AND HIS CREW  LAID DOWN COVERS OVER OUR CARPETING SO THERE WAS NO PROBLEM THERE.  ANY RESIDUE FROM TAKING THE OLD TILE UP WAS PROMPTLY VACUUMED UP.  RUSSELL DISCOVERED THAT THE TOILET WAS NOT SEATED CORRECTLY IN RELATION TO THE FLOOR AND HE CORRECTED THAT WHICH HE COULD HAVE IGNORED BUT DIDN'T.  IN ADDITION TO RE-SEATING OUR TOILET HE ALSO ELIMINATED A TRIP HAZARD AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE BATHROOM BY INSTALLING A NEW MARBLE SILL WHICH IS NOW EVEN WITH THE HALLWAY CARPETING RATHER THAN BEING 2 INCHES HIGHER.  ALL IN ALL THE WORK PERFORMED WAS DONE PROFESSIONALLY BY RUSSELL AND HIS CREW.  AT SOME POINT WE WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A SIMILAR MAKE OVER OF OUR MAIN BATHROOM AND WE WOULD CERTAINLY ASK RUSSELL TO DO THE JOB."

Chandelier Installation questions, answered by experts

Some types of fixtures might be a little trickier to remove than others, but they’re all relatively basic DIY jobs that should take an hour or less. Identifying the type of light you have is the first step in a safe, simple removal—learn how to remove recessed lights for a quick how-to on taking out one of the more common types of fixtures.

Motion-sensor lights use one watt while on standby and five watts while turned on. They’re usually on for one hour over a 24-hour period, bringing the total wattage to about 28 watts per day. LED lights use around 6.5 to 8 watts while on. If you leave an LED light on all night, with night ranging from 10 to 14 hours, you’re looking at using 65 to 112 watts a night. You can minimally cut your wattage in half by switching to a motion-sensor light.

For every foot of ceiling height, your chandelier should have two to three inches of height. To calculate the width of the ideal chandelier, determine the width and length of the room.

Add these two numbers together and that is the number of inches wide your chandelier should be. For example, if your room is 15 feet wide and 15 feet tall, you will need a chandelier that is 30 inches wide.

With the right tools and knowledge, you can install a chandelier on your own. It will require you to work with electricity, so it’s important to take the proper safety precautions. If you feel uneasy about doing it yourself, you can always contact a trusted professional to complete the installation for you.

To achieve the optimal lighting output from your under-cabinet lights, position the LED tape towards the front of the cabinet with the LEDs facing downward. For effective illumination of the work surface and backsplash, place the tape light approximately one to two inches behind the cabinet's front edge. This mounting configuration is especially suitable for dull or matte surfaces.
