"Ryan did a great job installing a bathroom light/fan and venting it through the attic to the exterior of the house, replacing 3, bathroom outlets that didn’t meet code and installing floor outlets in my living room. He and his assistant were professional and efficient and therefore a pleasure to work with. I plan to have him do some additional work in the future."

"David did an amazing job. He called me very quickly after I signed up on Angi. He set up a time to do the job within 4 days. He got both jobs done in a very short amount of time. His price was really reasonable. I would not hesitate to hire David again!"

"I highly recommend Ben @ ABN for your electrician needs. I hired ABN to replace outdated two-prong outlets with three-prong GFCIs, and install a completely new outlet in my bathroom, and they did an incredible job in no time. Their professionalism, skill, prices, and good attitude were excellent. I will be hiring ABN for all of my future projects too. Thanks!"

Generator Install questions, answered by experts

Setting up utilities on a vacant property usually takes at least a few months, or between 6 weeks to 16 weeks. This process requires working with the local planning and zoning department, hiring a building contractor or engineer to design the utility layout, securing permits, laying the lines, and connecting the utilities.

While standby generators provide essential backup power, they can fail when you need them most due to lack of maintenance, fuel supply issues, dead batteries, electrical problems, or improper installation. To avoid costly failures, professional installation and regular maintenance are crucial. Licensed technicians ensure safety, uphold warranty requirements, comply with regulations, and provide expert servicing.

If you’re wondering if you can use your electric vehicle as a backup battery, it depends on whether your EV is compatible with bidirectional charging. This technology allows energy to flow both ways, enabling vehicle-to-home (V2H) backup power, vehicle-to-load (V2L) for appliances and camping, and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) to support the power grid. Compatible EVs convert stored DC energy into usable AC power, helping reduce energy costs and enhance grid stability while providing emergency backup power.

These advanced generators use a key fob or a smartphone app to remotely start, which is ideal for getting power back on immediately without venturing outside. This feature is more common on whole home generators, but you may be able to find it on large portable generators, too.

If your home already has a grinder pump and you’re still noticing issues (like frequently clogged toilets and sinks), it could be time to upgrade your grinder pump. Start by checking your existing horsepower. If there are four or fewer people living in your home, using a 1/2-horsepower grinder pump should be sufficient. Larger households should consider investing in a 1-horsepower grinder pump to maximize wastewater removal efforts.
