Hello, and thanks for visiting Tick Tock Clock Shop. Our Master Clockmaker, Darryl, is the 4th generaration of the Podgorski family servicing clock owners around the tri-state area as well as nationally. For over 70 years the Podgorskis have been keeping people running on time and keeping their clocks functioning. Each generation learned the trade starting as an apprentice and worked up to Master Clockmaker. Clockmaking is a very precise and delicate business. You can trust that Darryl will give each and every clock his great pride of attention to details; whether it's a minor repair, a major rebuild, or an antique restoration. We are a full service facility for clock repair, servicing, cleaning, rebuilding, clock sales, and antique clock restoration. Please visit our "clocks for sale" pages (as they become available on ticktockclockshop.com) periodically to see our interesting, varied, and extensive inventory of all types: Grandfather, Mantle, Wall, and Cuckoo clocks. (These pages are still being constructed; there will be continuing change. If you don't see what you want, please visit again or contact us with inquiries. We have hundreds of clocks.) We are an authorized factory representative and service facility for all major clock manufacturers, both domestic and foreign. Please contact us with any questions or inquiries. Antique restoration is meticulously performed paying close attention to both the clock movements and the case so as not to destroy any antique value. All appraisals are carefully researched and scrutinized to assign a correct value to every clock being examined. Please Call Me.

Antiques and Jewelry Appraisals questions, answered by experts

Your home insurance company may allow you to use an appraisal instead of an inspection when you apply for coverage. Keep in mind that despite this, an appraisal is far less detailed than the different types of home inspections available and may not reveal potential risks that you’ll want to know about.

In most cases, you can expect home automation to boost your home value. This technology makes the homeowner’s life easier and more comfortable, and some provide increased safety and protection. Buyers will likely recognize value in security systems and utility monitors, as well as comfort-focused upgrades that save on electric bills while keeping interior rooms at the desired temperature and humidity. On average, you can expect a 50% and 75% return on investment on home automation services, and potentially even more if the automation reduces homeowner’s insurance.

The average cost for a home or property appraisal is about $355, with prices typically ranging from $250 to $500. The final cost is influenced by several factors, including the property's size, age, location, and how it compares to other homes in the area. Appraisals for larger, older, or non-conforming properties often cost more. While a single-family home appraisal usually costs between $300 and $400, appraising a multi-family home can range from $500 to $1,000 due to its increased size and complexity.

While there’s technically no limit to the dollar amount you can borrow for a home addition, the standard limit is around 80% of the value the addition is expected to add to your home. That means you could feasibly borrow up to $80,000 if an appraiser determines that the addition or bump out will add $100,000 in value to your property. You might also be limited by your debt-to-income ratio or credit score.

The cost to appraise a home depends on the type. Common types include:

  • Single-family homes: $300–$400

  • FHA or VA single-family homes: $400–$500

  • Condominium: $300–$500

  • Multi-family home: $500–$1,000

  • Apartment building: $1,500–$3,000

  • Commercial properties: $1,400–$10,000

  • Raw land: $1,000–$8,000
