Tick Tock Clock Shop

Appraisal Service,

About us

Hello, and thanks for visiting Tick Tock Clock Shop. Our Master Clockmaker, Darryl, is the 4th generaration of the Podgorski family servicing clock owners around the tri-state area as well as nationally. For over 70 years the Podgorskis have been keeping people running on time and keeping their clocks functioning. Each generation learned the trade starting as an apprentice and worked up to Master Clockmaker. Clockmaking is a very precise and delicate business. You can trust that Darryl will give each and every clock his great pride of attention to details; whether it's a minor repair, a major rebuild, or an antique restoration. We are a full service facility for clock repair, servicing, cleaning, rebuilding, clock sales, and antique clock restoration. Please visit our "clocks for sale" pages (as they become available on ticktockclockshop.com) periodically to see our interesting, varied, and extensive inventory of all types: Grandfather, Mantle, Wall, and Cuckoo clocks. (These pages are still being constructed; there will be continuing change. If you don't see what you want, please visit again or contact us with inquiries. We have hundreds of clocks.) We are an authorized factory representative and service facility for all major clock manufacturers, both domestic and foreign. Please contact us with any questions or inquiries. Antique restoration is meticulously performed paying close attention to both the clock movements and the case so as not to destroy any antique value. All appraisals are carefully researched and scrutinized to assign a correct value to every clock being examined. Please Call Me.

They come out and service my grandfather clock. He does an excellent job! I will definitely recommend them and absolutely use them, again.

We were advised that it would take 4-6 months because of his work backlog and it took four. The cost was more than I expected, $400, because of the many bushings replaced. I believe I received excellent and honest service.

After some scheduling conflicts due to weather once he came out to my house he was very professional and knowledgeable. He could tell us a lot about our own clock (we didn't purchase ourselves and didn't know much about it). He was able to fix it and helped us move it to where we wanted it.

Darryl showed us the problem on the movement and explained the service that would be done. Upon his return he again explained what he did and how to regulate the clock and cleared up a misconception I had about moving the hands to change the time. He was professional and friendly.
Some prior reviews on Angie's list had a complaint about delivery. The man is a craftsman and isn't sitting around waiting for his phone to ring for the next service call. If you choose to use him, be patient and you will be rewarded.

Not so great.  Hands were not aligned so that when the clock strikes 2, for example, the hands show 1:55.  Now the clock will chime the hour and the half hour together so that the chimes get out of alignment with the hands.  Frustrating.
Response from Tick Tock Clock Shop
"Mr. [Member Name Removed] did not call me to fix the trouble with the hands. The clock was not that way when it left my shop. The hands are a fraction fix and can be moved accidently. If he had Called me I could tell him how to fix it. I hope he still will. My work is guaranteed and I stand by it. Darryl"

He repaired a mantel clock that had stopped running. I believe he is someone who truly knows about clocks and would certainly go back to him.

He did a good job replacing my clock. I would use him again. I would just say he was lacking in customer service skills.

It went very well. He looked at our clock, gave us a fair estimate of the time and cost to complete the work, finished the job on the lower end of his projected cost. He is very pleasant and professional, really knows his clocks and seems to love his work.

We have used this provider twice. When our clock started acting up the second time, he was very quick to take a second look at it and fixed it.  He is very thorough, and made sure everything was working properly before we got it back.

He was prompt, came to the house because we also had a grandfather clock to be looked at, clear in his explanation.  When I picked it up he explained how to mount it correctly and regulate it.  He knows his stuff.
