Hello my name is Ammon, I am the owner operator at Trailside Lawncare. We provide Lawn treatments in the Lancaster Pa area. We do Lawn fertilizing, weed control, grub control, flea and tick control, disease control, core aerating, and overseeding. Fertilizer provides the needed nutrients for your lawn to grow lush and green. Without it, the grass is unlikely to grow healthy and full. It also may not be as green as you want it to be. Optimal fertilization results occur when the product is applied accurately, If coverage is inconsistent, growth will be as well, making your lawn look Bad.

"We looked into several providers before choosing Trailside. We made a few special request and Ammon was more than willing to work with us. He has responded quickly every time I had a question before and after the sale. I feel Ammon is an honest man and I am glad we choose his company. We just had our second treatment and the yard looks great."

Lawn Fertilization and Treatment questions, answered by experts

One of the best ways to save money on lawn care is to sign up for an annual contract for ongoing service rather than paying for one-off or as-needed services. If you guarantee a landscaping company ongoing work, they’re more likely to give you a break on the cost. Plus, ongoing services will keep your property in tip-top shape and help avoid the high cost of playing catch up on an overgrown lawn. You can also save money by sticking to the basics and foregoing add-on services like weeding and pest treatments.

Dog poop can make a fantastic natural fertilizer, but don’t just whack fresh fido feces onto your lawn. Apart from the smell, health risks, and overall ick factor, poop isn’t good for your grass in its unprocessed form. Its high nitrogen levels mean it can burn or even kill your grass. Correctly composted dog poop, on the other hand, is a much safer, odor-free, and effective way to encourage green lawns and blooming borders.

The safest method to avoid killing your turf grass is hand pulling Johnsongrass. You can also apply vinegar for a safer herbicide, but it will still burn your lawn if it gets on it.

You don't want to over-fertilize your lawn because it can burn the grass and even kill it. Healthy soil usually requires two fertilization applications a year during the height of the growing season. This fertilization schedule typically starts at the start of fall and the end of spring, depending on the grass type and plants.

Technically, yes—and you may have some successful growth—but this isn’t the ideal way to fill in sparse areas. By clearing leaves and debris, amending the soil, and aerating it properly before you lay the seeds, you’re providing the most ideal conditions for them to germinate.
