"The roof inspector/salesman scheduled with me quickly, and even came out on a Sunday evening. After getting a few estimates, I decided Home Genius Exteriors was the right fit. The roofing job was scheduled less than 2 weeks later and completed in 2 days. The new roof looks great and I no longer have to worry about leaks! I am very happy with the service, installation, and appearance of my new roof. This company made the process so easy."

"I am extremely happy with AJ's service, start to finish. We initially reached out for an estimate at the beginning of 2015. A representative came to our house to explain all the different products as well as pricing and timing. I had reached out to 2 other companies before hand but was not comfortable their high pressure selling. AJ was very patient with us regarding our timing and budget. I received an estimate on the spot and was able to take my time to review and get back to them. We scheduled the work for May and was able to have 7 Windows removed and replaced in only a few hours. We are very impressed with the quick respond time, professionalism and quality of work including cleanup. We plan on using AJ to replace the remaining Windows as well as a sliding glass door in early 2016.

"I was finally able to replace the remaining 10 old windows in my old home. After having Jake do the large picture windows and office window a couple years ago it was an easy choice to have him finish the rest! My mother was coming to stay with us and I really wanted the Windows complete before she arrived. Jake was able to do some juggling and they were done before she got here. The Windows look great, the noise reduction is great and I can't wait to save on my utility bill! Mom still can't believe the window trim and how beautiful it looks. Thanks Jake another job well done"

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

Replacing window glass instead of the entire window is more cost-effective, maintains the frame's aesthetics, and reduces waste. It improves insulation and energy efficiency and can be completed more quickly with minimal disruption to the home.

The methods outlined here are intended for surface scratches—ones that don’t cut into the glass very deeply. For deep scratches, you should consider a more comprehensive glass scratch repair kit. These kits come with abrasives, polishing compounds, and specialized tools designed for removing deep scratches from glass. If you feel uncomfortable tackling a deep scratch on your own, consider calling a local glass repair contractor.

Black spots on the bottom or along the edge of your bathroom mirror are caused by oxidation behind the mirror glass. When moisture and air are trapped between the glass and the backing, they react and cause discoloration. This is sometimes referred to as “mirror rot.” You’ll need to separate the glass and the backing to fully remove it.

The height of a mirror behind a vanity depends on several factors, including the height of the vanity, the placement of the faucet (on the wall or countertop), and the height of the faucet. A good rule of thumb is to hang the mirror 5 to 10 inches above the vanity’s highest point. However, you may need to lower the mirror based on the vanity size and overhead lighting placement.

Storm door panels are typically made from tempered or laminated glass, and each type has its benefits. Tempered glass goes through a special heating and cooling process, increasing its strength and durability. It’s known for its safety features—when it breaks, it shatters into small, relatively harmless pieces rather than sharp shards. Laminated glass is made by sandwiching a layer of plastic between two layers of glass. This interlayer holds the glass pieces together even when shattered, preventing them from scattering.
