"Lawrence plumbing replaced an old cast iron drain pipe and repiped all the drains leading into it. Existing drains had to be rerouted to improve flow and move them above the bottom of basement joists. They final product was aesthetically pleasing and they were very professional and they were the lowest quoted cost which did not change."

"I could not be happier with the work they completed. They built a new driveway with the grading and fixed my water issues. This is a serious operation and very professional. I plan to use them again for another project."

"I've known Ed for years and he's always been a professional and upstanding guy. When getting a quote I just met his business partner Chevy, he knows his stuff about concrete with over a decade in the industry. Together they make a great team. We have done remodeling and construction for years and we knew exactly what we wanted and told them our plans and showed them the layouts. With a few suggestions and tweaks on their end, it was a fast easy project when we all worked together. Upstanding guys and a great price. We have them on board for our concrete contractors when we need them for renos."

"I had a very messy sewage backup in a basement bathroom. The toilet was clogged and sewage was also coming up the shower drain. I called Stahl Plumbing and Drain. I chose them because it isn’t one of those huge do it all companies that include plumbing work, it has “drain” in the name, and after speaking to them I learned that the owner is the person who would be working on the problem. I am so happy I found David –owner of Stahl Plumbing and Drain. He was very persistent and determined – he had to use different sizes of snakes and snake it from multiple access points. I was growing concerned that it would turn into a really expensive job. But he showed me that the backup was caused by waste getting hung up at the joints of the shifting terra cotta pipes – and the way my plumbing had been installed was making it challenging to unclog. David was very patient in answering my questions and I watched as he put the camera through the pipes. – and it was all for the price he quoted me before he began. After he unclogged the mess I did decide to have him do the hydro jet pipe cleaning. It was amazing to see on the camera the buildup of hardened grease and soap and gunk and then see the clean pipes after. It wasn’t necessary but it gave me peace of mind that this wouldn’t happen again any time soon. If I’m ever in that desperate situation again (or I need any other plumbing work) I will not hesitate to use Stahl Plumbing and DRAIN and will certainly recommend David to family and friends."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Professional tools include drain snakes, hydro jets, cameras for line inspection, and enzymatic or chemical cleaners for dissolution.

Baking soda and vinegar is a great solution for cleaning your sink drain; in fact, it’s our preferred method. Here’s how to unclog your drain with baking soda and vinegar: Pour in a half cup of baking soda, then 1 cup of white vinegar, and let the two bubble for 15 minutes. Then rinse out with boiling water. This method is much safer than using a chemical drain cleaner gel.

The first rule of plumbing is nothing but water, toilet paper, number one, and number two go down the drain.

To prevent clogs, get yourself:

  • A compast pail where you can clean plates, drain grease, and toss scraps and paper towels.

  • Drain screens for the shower, tub, and bathroom sink to stop hair, jewelry, toys, etc. from going down the drain.

  • Trash cans for everything that shouldn’t go down the drain, like dental floss, hygiene products, and cat litter.

P.S.: If you do drop your priceless ring down the drain, take a deep breath, and then follow these steps to retrieve jewelry from your drain.

Yes, you can use vinegar to unclog a dishwasher. To do so, combine 4 tablespoons of white vinegar with 4 tablespoons of baking soda and pour the mixture down your dishwasher’s drain. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then pour a cup of hot water down the drain to flush everything out. Finally, run a rinse cycle on your dishwasher to see if the clog is gone.

The spin cycle on your washer should initiate draining, but if you still find leftover water in the washing machine tub, you may need to drain it manually. To manually drain a washing machine, you’ll need to turn off the power supply and locate the drain hose, filter, and pump. Open or disconnect these parts and let the water drain into a bucket.
