It is glaringly obviously, after interview multiple companies, why his experiences in the industry lead him to start his own business, and I assure you that you will not be disappointed and you will see why he is so highly recommended. 18 windows, a front door and new French doors installed in 3 days! Andrewâ s son is fast, courteous, does excellent work, very clean and professional. This family owned business does customer service the right way!!"

"The workers were superb. They worked all day long in the most professional, efficient way imaginable, all harnessed in all the time. The roof was tight, extremely well constructed and ventillated. I had an experienced foreign visitor here who had never been much impressed by American workmanship before but she was incredibly enthusiastic about what she saw the Long Roofers doing. They did everything that had been promised, protected the facades of my house and the one next door, cleaned up so that you would never know they had been there and perhaps most telling of all were proud of their work. I could not have been more pleased and would recommend Long Roof to anyone. It was worth every penny."

"Jaylee provided a total face lift to the landscaping at the front of our house. They dug out our old flower beds and mulch, added river rock, poured a new sidewalk and steps into our front door. They also added solar lights and new exterior lights. We use Jaylee for all of our projects and will continue to!"

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

Most window screens in residential homes are designed to be removed from the inside, especially with double-hung, single-hung, and casement styles. That said, some setups require exterior removal. Older homes or custom installs may have exterior clips or brackets, and sunscreens are almost always mounted on the outside. Before removing your window screen, look at how it is held in place.

Yes, you can add a screen door to most door frames. The screen should be able to fit standard-size door frames, so unless you have an unusually sized door, you shouldn’t have an issue. Just make sure to properly measure the frame. When in doubt, it’s best to let a pro take care of this task for you so it’s installed correctly.

Some local utilities or state programs offer rebates or tax incentives for energy-efficient upgrades, including solar screens. Make sure to check with your local energy provider or government agency to see if you qualify for any cost-saving programs. Federal tax credits may also be available for qualifying window and exterior home upgrades.

If your door has interchangeable inserts, you’ll likely want to swap the glass out for a screen during the summer months. The process to do so will vary by door, but you’ll follow these general steps: First, use a flathead screwdriver to pop out the retainer strips—the plastic strips running down both long (and sometimes all four) sides of the door. Then gently pull them out by hand. Carefully remove the glass insert from the door and replace it with the screen. Finally, push the plastic retainer strips back into place, working from top to bottom.

Drafts, condensation between panes, difficulty operating, or visible frames or glass damage are signs of needed repairs.
