"I wished my husband listened to me when I said these people were sketchy. There were three people in total, one called Mike, and the other two looked like they aren't sober. They were in our home an entire afternoon, but didn't get much done because they were mainly smoking and trying to figure out how to install the flooring. They broke our materials, stole materials and we had to pay them $250. The one time my husband called to ask for our stuff back, Mike hung up. Then I contacted him and he said he would return the money and materials. Then a week goes by, and still nothing. They are actually located in Clarion, but no company shows up when I search for them. This is not a legitimate company and are just taking money and materials."

It all depends on what you’re looking for in a floor. Cork flooring is certainly softer and more sound-absorbing than hardwood floors, and the two share very similar maintenance routines. That said, for some homeowners, the pristine appearance of hardwood floors may be more appealing, and they may be less prone to scratches and dents than cork flooring. When it comes to linoleum versus laminate, the better choice depends on your personal needs. Linoleum tends to last longer but is more difficult to install. Laminate is less eco-friendly and less durable, but it is easy to install without a professional. 

Both options come in a wide variety of styles, but many prefer the look of laminate. Laminate and linoleum are affordable flooring options compared to hardwood or tile, but laminate costs less at about $0.70 to $2 per square foot.

Technically, you can start tiling in a corner and work your way out. However, it's not traditionally how tiling is done. Instead, work from the bottom middle of the wall. Tile out the entire row with whole tiles before moving on to the next row. Once you finish installing all of the whole tiles, then you focus on tiling the corners.

Clean with a damp mop, avoid excess water, and use furniture pads to prevent scratches.

A subfloor will often last for the life of the house—somewhere between 50 and 100 years—if it avoids water damage, mold, termites, and other things that can cause it to age faster. If a subfloor sees continued exposure to moisture, it can warp, grow mold, or rot and last a much shorter time.
