We prepare your residence to appeal to the largest number of potential buyers or renters in your area and market. Staging can reduce the number of days it is on the market AND boost the sale or rental price, both big benefits for you. The first step is a consultation. Then we budget and plan. Then we execute the staging process. After your home is sold/rented, we come in and clear out the staging items.

Hot Shot Cleaning was started in 1974 has been growing and evolving since. Initially, our prime focus was real estate rehab work, primarily in the finishing end of this industry. Hot Shot started looking for niches within the finish trades and began catering to the burgeoning historic restoration market. As that market began to wane, in the interest of staying at the forefront of new product developments, Hot Shot focused on masonry casualty repairs and high-performance coatings. In the early 1980s we expanded our range of services starting the Forever Floors division. Forever Floors was created to cater to the varying demands of the flooring industry, from concrete preparation and repairs to finished floor system installations. To this day, heavy duty cleaning- removal of smoke, soot, paint, graffiti, dirt, mildew, algae, tar or years of pollution from brick, stone and all types of masonry surfaces are the mainstays of our business. We have successfully restored brick surfaces that many others including manufacturers, said could not be repaired. Beyond insurance claim or casualty repairs and historic restorations, we also clean surfaces ranging from aluminum or vinyl to wood siding, trim and or decks to restore their original beauty or to prepare these surfaces for a new application of paint, stain or finishes. We are also widely recognized for our expertise in high performance and specialty coating applications. The special coatings we apply range from fireproofing materials and long lasting, high build roof and wall coatings, to multi-component resinous products for concrete or metal surfaces. Beyond our core competencies, we offer an extensive number of property management services that make us a "turnkey" source for our clients. Most of the work we complete is done by in-house staff, although for more extensive specialized projects we will employ the services of other contractors within the network we have developed over the last forty plus years.

Home Staging questions, answered by experts

Redfin reported in 2021 that homes with fireplaces were listed on the market for around 13% more than the national median sale price, but this doesn’t mean that they actually sold for that much. While homebuyer demand reigns supreme, the actual ROI on a fireplace depends on various factors, including size, type, and material.

Every market is different, but the general consensus is that since a fireplace is a sought-after item in many homes, the removal of such a feature can negatively impact the value of your home. Therefore, if you plan on selling your house soon, don’t remove it. If you plan on living in your home for a long time, the removal of a fireplace can decrease your bills over time, as heat and air conditioning can both leak through a wood-burning fireplace’s chimney or the exhaust systems of a gas insert.

Avoid using a home equity loan for non-essential or short-term expenses like vacations, luxury purchases, or temporary financial fixes. It’s best to reserve home equity loans for long-term investments, such as home improvements, that can add value to your property or financial position.

The main difference between a home stager and an interior designer is that the former creates temporary, generally appealing spaces, while the latter creates personalized design choices for your permanent home. A home stager seeks to depersonalize your home while also showing off the best features of the home to potential buyers. An interior designer works with you to infuse your personal style into the decor in your home. You’ll typically only hire a local home stager when selling your home.

To stage your home yourself, clean your home thoroughly to sell, leaving it gleaming like a five-star hotel. Less is best—always clear away clutter and anything personal so buyers can focus on the beauty of the rooms. Prospective buyers will check the closets, so investing in a storage space may be necessary.

Move furniture around, mix fabrics and decor, and de-cramp the room by removing any unnecessary furniture. A fresh coat of paint always helps, as do natural features like plants.
