"Will Stahl from Stahl Mechanical called me the same day that I submitted my request for a pro. He came to my home for an estimate a few days later. He was knowledgeable about AC and electric, educating my husband and I regarding the different systems available, cost and efficiency. He and his 2 guys arrived the following week on time and finished the job in less time than estimated. Will was skillful, clean, respectful and friendly. He was genuinely concerned with the quality of his work and assisted us in setting the smart thermostat and returned upon request at no extra charge to adjust the vents to balance the air flow in all the upstairs bedrooms. I would highly recommend him to others and have given his card out to friends and family already."

Also very knowledgeable on the subject Word of mouth is amazing and my friends will know what a difference this cleaning makes in my home. The air is fresh and clean. I don’t have the dust I use to have. They also had do an uv light installation. The very next day James snd Michael came and installed it. Once again very professional. Answered all my questions. "He dug up the outdoor wiring in the ground. I only had half my power I had no heat, hot water or stove. Earth was rock/clay hard and he did it with a pick and shovel. Dug under 3 sidewalks and also was careful not to disturb other pipes and wirings including my neighbors. It took a week and a half. Weather was starting to get cold as well and he worked non stop. I finally got my power and he cleaned up the yard so good. Excellent worker and a pleasant person as well. His price was good. I am 73 and needed my heat and stove and water. I was using an elctric heater during this time. I am so greatful that he was so dedicated to his work."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

An HVAC unit, like a furnace, air conditioner, or heat pump, produces warm or hot air. The air ducts serve as the passages to help heat or cool air from the HVAC unit flow through the home. Air ducts are just one part of the overall HVAC system.

No, it's not safe to keep using your unit when it's frozen. Not only can running a frozen unit lead to damage, but it can also potentially overheat, making it a fire hazard. Therefore, it's always best to turn off the AC unit as soon as you notice any ice.

ACs don't run on water. They're not connected to drain pipes or any part of your plumbing system. However, they need refrigerant to run. Refrigerant is a gas or liquid that has a low boiling point and absorbs the heat in your home. ACs need this in order to be functional and cool your home. If you suspect your AC is low on refrigerant, you need to contact a licensed HVAC professional. Refrigerant is a dangerous chemical that requires specialized training and permits to work with.

When faced with HVAC issues, it's best to begin by ensuring the thermostat settings are correct for either heating or cooling. If the system isn't responding, check the thermostat for proper function and power supply. It's also important to examine air filters, as clogged ones can decrease performance. Confirm the power supply to the system by checking the circuit breakers and fuses. If these basic steps fail to resolve the issue, contact an HVAC professional for a more detailed diagnosis and repair.

Setting your AC unit to 78 degrees can, indeed, help you save energy. In fact, according to experts, every degree you turn the unit up could save you between 1% and 3% on your energy bills. That said, turning your unit off entirely while you’re out might actually be less efficient than keeping it on at a higher temperature. Why? The unit will need to work extra hard to cool the house back off again after all those hot hours.
