"Everything went very well. I've been a homeowner for more than 50 years and have used a number of handymen and Dave is by far and away the best, most versatile and most accomplished of them all. He is also punctual and very meticulous in his preparation and execution."

"Kevin and his crew did a great job installing a new vanity and sink in the bathroom. When I couldn't get any other handyman to return my call, he called back right away and showed up on time the next day. He and his crew completed the installation that day and we were pleased with the work done."

I'm a highly skilled contractor who's been in the home remodeling field for over 25 years and has just recently started my own company due to the high volume of work I've been blessed to receive. I enjoy creating One of a kind kitchens and baths. My skill set includes carpentry , plumbing, electrical, masonry, roofing and siding, flooring, painting and drywall. "This was a big job that was part of a whole-house renovation. JA Drywall installed framing and drywall throughout my second floor (three bedrooms + hallway) that had experienced a fair amount of water damage as the result of a leaky roof. Juan and Joshua were great coordinating the project--super quick response time for a walk-through & estimate. And the crew were great---super nice guys who did a great job. (One of them even lent me a tool to help with a project I was working on in the kitchen!) Both my carpenter and painters were impressed with their work. I would rehire &/or recommend them in a heartbeat."

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Grounding is a great first step to prevent electrical shock, but you can take it further with GFCI outlets and AFCIs (arc fault circuit interrupters). In particular, AFCIs help protect against the type of electrical arcs that cause fires, like if a mouse chews on a wire or your laptop starts overheating at the wall. These are required in some areas of your home.

There are several maintenance tips you should take to ensure your pellet stove's safety and proper maintenance. You should vacuum the ash pan every week to prevent overflowing and clean the stove and surrounding vents every three to four months. It’s also important to get a professional inspection every year and install a carbon monoxide detector close to your stove. Be sure to dispose of hot ashes in a closed metal container; store it outside, away from the house. Only use the pellets recommended by your stove's manufacturer, and follow any cleaning and maintenance instructions.

Absolutely! Smoke alarms are lifesavers. According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), per 1,000 reported home fires, homes without working smoke alarms have a death rate nearly twice as high as those that do have working alarms. So remember to ensure you have enough installed in your home and that they are working and in good shape.

Regular and professional chimney cleaning offers several key benefits. It prevents dangerous fire hazards by removing flammable creosote buildup, improves airflow and heating efficiency, ensures the safe venting of smoke and harmful gases, and can help you stay in compliance with local safety codes.

The most common causes of kitchen fires are leaving cooking food unattended, frying food with excessive amounts of oil, and leaving flammable objects near the stovetop.
