"The job went very well and we love how are bathroom has been transformed. Bob made multiple visits to consult on the tile choices and ensure they were prepared for the project. Phil (tile guy) was a true craftsman and took his time to ensure the work was perfect. We wish the same care was taken by all contractors.

"Once I sent her all the measurements, it took her a little while to get the options back to me.  Overall, they're good designs.  However, they're very simplistic and give general ideas for space planning.  I was hoping to have a better idea for sizes of furniture for the space and some variations on staging.
Jill was very responsive when I did have a question.  I'm not sure how helpful it is to have a virtual design done.  If we lived in similar cities, I'd probably use her again for help with additional designs.

There were two of them, a man and a woman. The woman did her part of the job which was the kitchen, bathroom and scrubbing down. She always did her work very well so I have her an A. But the man who did the sweeping and dusting was not so thorough. He work was quite satisfactory; his was rushed and not thorough. Before I used them again I would talk to them about what my concerns were. I would try them again but I would let them know just what I have in mind. I believe they are trying hard and working hard. I saw some recent reviews for them online and some of them were not very good ones for them. I would just want to be a little more encouraging for them ex especially if they are new in business and trying to balance a tough schedule.

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

There are a few different tools you can use to score tiles. Manual tile cutters or tile scribes work well for scoring in straight lines. Tile nippers are one of the best options for scoring because they can make small and irregular cuts that larger tools may not be able to handle.

You can put hot pans on porcelain countertops. Porcelain is highly resistant to heat—it’s manufactured at around 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit, so it can withstand a ton of heat without cracking or damaging. Even though the high heat is a plus, you should still be cautious when putting hot surfaces on porcelain countertops.

The easiest tile size to install is large tiles, and they’re easier to install than small tiles—the job is faster and simpler when there’s less placing, adhering, and grouting to do. However, when tiles get really big, they’re more difficult to handle, cut, and fit. Standard floor tile sizes are 12-by-12 inches, 18-by-18 inches, and 12-by-24 inches.

Costs range from $5 to $15 per square foot for installation and $150 to $600 for repairs, depending on the material and complexity.

It’s not a good idea to lay tile and grout on the same day. The adhesive or thin-set that sticks the tiles to the surface needs plenty of time to dry before you can grout. Wait for 24 to 48 hours, depending on moisture levels in the space. The tiles can become misaligned and more prone to damage if you don’t wait.
