"They were good. They’re reliable, they came out when they said they were going to come out. They did the work they were going to do, they cleaned up after themselves. I would use them again."

"Extremely professional. His estimate was spot on and there were no surprises. Above all, he tried to fix the problem instead of just replacing it so that it would cost us less money. Because of the age of the panel he was not able to fix but had to replace and gave us options to stay with the same amount of power or go to the larger panel capacity which will work for the future as well. He was here when he said he was going to be here and he told me what to have ready to have back up heat in the house while we were without power. He said it would take 5--6 hours and was done in 5 hours and 45 minutes."

"Dave and his guys did a great job, as always. He came out next day. Fixed an outdoor outlet by my pool and installed a Ring flood light and camera for my side yard. Done within an hour at a very reasonable price. Can't recommend them enough."

Ceiling Fans FAQs, answered by experts

There are many types of ceiling fans available, each designed for different spaces and needs. Standard ceiling fans are the most common type and work well in most rooms. Low-profile ceiling fans are better suited for rooms with low ceilings. Smart ceiling fans can be controlled with a smartphone or voice commands. For larger spaces with ceilings between 10 and 25 feet high, large ceiling fans are ideal. Dual-motor fans have two motors to produce more airflow in multiple directions. You can also find energy-efficient or Energy-Star models that can be up to 60% more efficient, as well as fans with built-in lights or retractable blades.

The more surface area that a ceiling fan blade has, the more effective it will be at producing airflow. Therefore, a longer ceiling fan blade is the better option if you’re looking for more wind. However, a longer blade will consume more energy than a shorter blade.

Many ceiling fan mounts feature a design that can accommodate slight slopes by using a ball joint mechanism at the end of the downrod. If your ceiling has a steeper slope than your fan allows for, you can install a downrod that will allow your fan to safely hang below the slope.

To determine if your ceiling box can support a fan, you must check if it is specifically fan-rated. Manufacturers are required to indicate this on the box itself. You may need to remove the existing light fixture to look inside the ceiling box for an inscription stating it is rated for fan use. If you do not see this confirmation, the box is likely not strong enough and must be replaced with a fan-rated junction box. For a proper and safe installation, you should also use a fan brace to secure the new box between the ceiling joists, which provides the necessary support for the fan's weight and motion.

Installing a ceiling fan where no wiring exists is a difficult and potentially dangerous job that should not be attempted as a DIY project. It is recommended to hire a certified electrician to build the necessary electrical infrastructure. In some areas, building codes require this work to be done by a professional to ensure safety and compliance. Due to the complexity, this type of installation is a significant job that could cost up to $2,000.
