In addition to providing quality workmanship and knowledge we seek to build lasting relationships with customers. We look to make projects happen in an orderly and timely manner at a price that is fair to us and to our customers. We have a growing group of trusted sub contractors who perform work for us including but not limited to electrical and plumbing. Our company believes in being honest, clean and prompt. These values are required of any sub-contractor hired by us.

"We had a major renovation of our whole first floor done two years ago, including removing two walls, and then smaller jobs done since then. They are extremely conscientious, and worked with us closely to make sure things were what we wanted with no surprises, and they were responsive when things weren't quite what we wanted, to make it right, at no extra charge. They also had a good artistic sense, being involved in the design process to suggest several nice features, and they also have made suggestions several times that saved us significant money. Early on, there were communication issues with them not getting back to us quickly, but more recently there has been no problem with that. I think they had some issues with communication due to the rapid growth of their business that have now been worked out."

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Yes, most services include necessary frame modifications for proper door fitting. Confirm with your provider.

Call a foundation repair pro to replace a rotted support beam. Your contractor will likely install temporary support to the area while replacing the beam with new wood or steel. Load-bearing elements of your home—such as the horizontal beams that run along your floors, walls, roof, and ceilings—should be inspected by a trained structural engineer. Call these experts the moment you detect rot, water damage, or foundation issues in your home.

House framing can be expensive because the materials are pricey, and the job requires a high level of expertise. The more complex the plans, the more expensive the job, but even the most basic frame needs to be installed with high-quality materials and precision. When pricing your home’s framework, remember that a sturdy frame is necessary to create a safe structure.

You can use a nail to find ceiling joists, but it’s not as reliable as a stud finder, and you’ll end up with lots of small holes in your ceiling. If the nail hits a joist, you'll feel increased resistance. Mark the spot with a pencil. Repeat this process regularly along the ceiling, 16 or 24 inches apart, until you've mapped out the joist locations.

Joists do distribute their load to beams, but they don’t sit on top of the beams. Instead, home builders nail or screw the joists directly to the beams such that the end of the joist butts up against the edge of the beam. Beams can sit on other beams for support, but you’ll never see a joist sitting on top of a beam or another joist.
