"Awful. Absolutely awful. We hired them for an insurance claim. The job was extremely sloppy. The drywall is uneven and chunky. There was paint splatter on my floor that no one felt the need to clean up. There was a spot on my floor that was supposed to be fixed under the carpeting. It was never fixed and I paid out of pocket to have that carpeting replaced and that floor fixed. the padding was never replaced under that section of carpet either and I paid for that too!! When I brought it up to the owner, I receive no response. I have called and left voicemails, my wife has called and left voicemails. I even contacted the restoration company who hired these goons, and they are just passing us off to the owner like it's all his fault. NO you hired an incompetent contractor. He has been to small claims court before, he may be going there again if this issue isn't resolved."

"First of all, I am pleased with the excavation of the five total shrubs that I needed removed from the front and rear of my home and I really like the alberta spruce trees and phenomenal lavender plant, which I am hoping will thrive in the coming years. The laying of black mulch was also done well. Unfortunately, at this time I still have a number of barren spots on my lawn where grass seed was planted but never sprouted, and, it appears that no aeration was ever performed prior to laying the seed in these areas. Also, there were an awful lot of large dirt clumps left immediately after the work was finished, but I figured this was normal, as I had every reason to believe that the landscaping work was being performed by experts who knew exactly what they were doing, and the company had received many good reviews. A lot of these clumps remain and this coupled with the lack of grass makes the lawn appear that much more unattractive. Regarding topsoil application, I did not notice any new topsoil applied to the areas where most of the grass seed was planted, as the ground did not appear to be any darker, it only appeared as though the soil already in place had been turned over, hence the clumps. In the rear of the property, it appeared as though the grass seed was dropped but that nothing was done to prepare the ground beforehand. I may be incorrect, but that is how it appeared to me, and how it appears to this day. I had also arranged to have pre-emergent weed control performed but no weed removal or control of any kind was performed and unfortunately they have grown more wild since the work by JRS was performed. Additionally, there appears to be a lot of grass growing through the mulch that was placed in the circle surrounding the tree in my front yard, possibly due to grass seed dropped in that area prior to the mulch being put down, which does not look good at all. As a Board member of my condominium development, and as a homeowner, I would like very much to be able to refer JRS as a landscaping company to other homeowners and to developments that contact us for reviews. Sadly, however, I cannot in good faith do this, given the substandard work performed on my landscape on Thursday July 26, 2018. I also take issue with the unprofessional lack of regular, basic communication or responses to phone calls over the past few months. Apparently, the owner of JRS does not stand by his company's work, because despite the fact that I have communicated all of these concerns to him, he has made no move to rectify any of this and, sadly, more often than not the company does not respond to follow-up inquiries, either by phone or email. I paid over $1,400 for landscaping work that should have been a mere fraction of that price, given what was actually done correctly. I would highly discourage anyone from hiring JRS Landscaping, LLC."

Unfortunately, some plumbing scenarios, like a broken sewer pipe repair, will require excavation to complete the job. Plumbing excavation costs range from $30 to $70 per cubic foot. However, if you need additional trenching, expect to pay an extra $4 to $12 per linear foot. Keep in mind that these costs are on top of the plumbing repair costs, and they don’t account for labor costs. Consult your excavation specialist to determine an accurate estimate for your job.
The average cost for pool excavation is $2,500. This cost can range from $450 to $4,500, depending on the pool shape and size, time of year, and any need to move buried utilities.
When excavating for your pool, you might have to move existing utilities. You can expect to pay an additional $15 to $25 per linear foot to move gas lines. To move a septic system, it’ll cost an additional $2,000 to $20,000. A pool that is 10 feet by 12 feet averages $450 to excavate, and a 20-foot-by-40-foot pool averages $3,020.
The cost for residential excavation is $3,200 on average, ranging between $50 and $200 per cubic yard. Total costs could range from $500 to $15,000, depending on the project type, yard size, and soil type.
When a project needs an excavator, the contractor will subcontract one as part of the larger project. If you hire an excavation specialist, you can expect to pay between $40 and $180 per hour. When excavating, if you have soil with excessive rocks or clay deposits, expect an additional cost of $200 to $1,200.
Warm weather seasons like spring and summer are ideal times to excavate due to the ground being softer and easier to dig through. However, it is important to note that bad weather, like heavy blizzard conditions or torrential rainfall, can prolong the project length, increasing costs. That’s why it’s best to avoid excavating during winter or hurricane season, depending on your home’s location.
While completing an excavation project yourself is possible, we don’t recommend it. You’ll likely need to buy or rent the equipment necessary for the job. This equipment costs as $100 per hour or $2,200 weekly, increasing by as much as 50% for larger jobs.
In addition, completing an excavating job yourself poses a safety risk. If proper marking hasn't occurred, you risk hitting buried cables and other critical piping, like gas and water lines. Additionally, if working with excavation equipment, you’ll need to steer clear of any overhead wires. Leaving this project to an excavating professional is best.
