"Ian did an excellent job installing our custom Murphy bed built-in, in our guest room. He built us a super rad, custom Tambour cabinet and advised on design and materials. His craftsmanship was second to none, he was highly professional and had excellent communication the whole way. We wouldn’t recommend Ian more and look forward to working with him again!"

"Paul is timely, responsive and professional and reasonably priced. He has a wide range of skills and his work is high quality. I am a General Contractor that has done countless major renovations and new construction projects. I have now hired Paul on 2 separate occasions on the same project and would highly recommend him. "Dan Steen provided a quick response to a thermostat/attic vent and roof issue. Local HVAC and roofing companies in the Bend area wouldn’t commit to such a small fix (less than $1000) given their busy summer months. Dan responded over the weekend and was there to fix it early Monday morning. He was polite, professional, quick and efficient. I’ll call Cascade Peak Home Services first the next time I need a handyman in the Bend area. Highly recommend!"

Mailbox Repair FAQs, answered by experts

Yes, you can repair cat scratches on leather furniture. A quick fix that won’t repair roughness is a leather recoloring balm that helps scratches blend in. Otherwise, use the following process.

  1. Clean the area and trim loose fibers.

  2. Rub leather binding glue all over the affected area.

  3. Sand the area down with fine-grit sandpaper and clean off any residue.

  4. Fill holes, scratches, and gouges with leather putty from a leather repair kit.

  5. Sand the area down again and clean off any residue.

  6. Apply leather colorant in several layers.

  7. Seal the color in with a leather sealant and finish.

If you’re looking for a reputable furniture repair company, the best-case scenario is getting a referral from a trusted friend or family member. However, you can also ask local furniture repair companies about the following points to determine their experience and quality of work:

  • Warranty for structural repairs

  • Positive online reviews and Better Business Bureau (BBB) ratings

  • Number of years of experience

  • Specific expertise with fixing your type of furniture

  • Ability to carry out on-site repairs to avoid damage during relocation

Yes, vinegar can break down the adhesive bond, effectively dissolving the glue from wood. It will be much easier to wipe away. Vinegar’s acidity, which helps to make it an effective all-purpose cleaner, can also aid in removing adhesive with less chance of damaging the wood and finish than more aggressive solvents.

Furniture repair costs around $200 on average, and most project costs fall between $100 and $500. The price you can expect to pay will depend on the type of furniture you’re repairing, the extent of the damage, and the size and age of the piece. Reupholstering and couch frame repair are the most expensive, sometimes costing $1,000, while fixes like repairing a scratch or replacing a spring in a couch or armchair will usually cost under $100. Older furniture requires more care and will typically cost more to repair.

Like stains, the best way to prevent cracks is by treating them as quickly as possible. You can apply a protection cream or conditioner, which will fill in and plump any gaps or wrinkles that may start to form.
