I am a sole proprietor that makes unique functional art from stone and metal. All designs and fabrication are done by superior design so we have many one of kind pieces. We also do a lot of custom work that we work with the customer to help make their ideas and thoughts a reality and offer services in those fields as well. The company consist of my son and I who work out of our own shop locally in Bend, Or. We are very versatile in the work we do; some people may have a piece of wood or glass, ect. That they want frames made for them. Walk in gate, Canopy for a bed, just about anything that may have some stone or metal involved. We also do machine work for certain projects that people would like to have done, so we are service orientated also. When a customer decides on something there is a 50% non-refundable deposit then the rest paid when at the time of the service is complete. We do take credit cards, checks and cash. Add a T-shaped spacer to each corner of a tile when placing it. You’ll want to nudge the tiles closer together so the spacers are touching each corner. When you’re done installing your tile, you can remove each spacer, wash them, and use them for your next project.
Tile installation can be expensive because it requires more time and labor to install than many other materials. For example, laminate flooring can click and lock into place, and carpet comes in large rolls that you can secure to the floor. Grout and caulk are commonly used together, especially in bathrooms. Grout goes between the tiles and keeps them sturdy and in place on the walls or floor. Caulk goes in corners or where two different materials meet (like where the bathtub meets the tile) to create a waterproof seal. However, they are not interchangeable—you shouldn't use caulk to adhere tile and shouldn’t use mortar if you need a waterproof seal.
The number of boxes of tile you need depends entirely on the amount of tile in each box or case. Different manufacturers package their tiles differently, and boxes contain different amounts of tile depending on the size, shape, and material. Often, the amount of area that a case will cover is listed in the product description. To calculate the number of boxes you need, take the total square feet of the space and divide it by the number of square feet the box will cover.
