"Finally, a contractor that tells you exactly what he plans to do, then does it. Ryan installed hardwood, ceramic tiles, carpeting and baseboards. Shows up on time, considerate of your home and belongings, neat and accurate work including all the details. Cleans up at the end of each day. Trust worthy."

"John was the quickest to respond to my call and set up a time for an estimate (I called 4 different carpet cleaning companies), and he was the only one that we know of in Klamath Falls that does DRY carpet cleaning.  We had never tried the dry cleaning method before.  We were pleased with the results.  John was very good at explaining the process and giving us information on it.  He was very clear about what it was good at doing and when it would be better to do steam cleaning.  Very up-front and honest about it.  Carpets came out great.  John was on time, and was done within his estimated time frame.  The cost was comparable to steam cleaning, but there was no waiting to carpets to dry, and they looked just as good as when we've had them steam cleaned before.

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, carpets should be replaced after a house fire or significant smoke damage, even if they appear undamaged. Smoke, soot, particulates, and chemicals can penetrate deep into the carpet fibers and padding, making complete removal a complicated and time-consuming process. If water was used to extinguish the fire, it can also soak through the carpet and padding, creating a risk of mold and mildew growth. Due to these challenges and potential health risks, replacing the carpet is the safest and most effective solution.

No, it works best under synthetic carpets in high-traffic or moisture-prone areas. Avoid using moisture barrier padding under natural fiber carpets like wool, which need air circulation. The barrier can trap the moisture against natural fibers and cause problems. Also, you can skip it in low-risk areas like upstairs guest bedrooms, where the extra protection often isn't worth the added cost.

Carpet tiles are less expensive than traditional carpet. The average cost of carpet installation is $1,800, or $3 to $11 per square foot. In comparison, carpet tiles cost $2.50 to $11 apiece and can often be bought in bulk cartons. Since you can more easily DIY carpet tiles, you may be able to save on installation costs, too.

Berber is a loop pile carpet known for its strength, durability, and distinct looped look. It can be made from a number of different carpet materials, including nylon and wool. However, Berber isn’t as soft as cut pile carpet, so it isn’t the best carpet for a bedroom (although it’s a good style of carpet for living rooms).

With that said, if you really like the look of Berber, you can still install it in your bedroom—it just might not be as comfortable on your feet as cut pile carpeting.

Yes, you can put carpet directly on concrete. However, you need to take certain precautions to ensure the success of the carpet installation. For example, you’ll need to choose a synthetic carpet pad to provide insulation and cushioning and a vapor barrier to prevent moisture from seeping into the carpet.
