"On Tuesday 09-29-2020, Joseph came to my home to clean and inspect my fireplace and chimney. The first thing I would like to comment on beyond his obvious knowledge and skill with fireplace tech is that he's also a wonderful and caring person. I could tell that he genuinely cared about me as well as the task at hand. I have two canes that I need to move about. He could tell that I have cretin issues with some day to day things. He helped me with a couple of items that were not even related to the chimney job. He didn't have to do that. Joseph is an amazing person. We had a wonderful chat too. It felt like I was visiting an old and trusted friend. He performed a detailed inspection of my fireplace system, cleaned everything well, pointed out a few minor issues, and then made a few repairs. When done, he cleaned up his workspace and collected his tools and ladder. As you might imagine, cleaning fireplaces and chimneys can be very dirty work but he is very skilled and he was super careful. I had nothing to do after he had packed up his gear and left. He then told me that the fee was just as quoted on the phone when I made the appointment. NICE! We ended the visit with a pleasant chat in the driveway as he packed his truck and then he was off to his next job. I absolutely and highly recommend Joseph and 'Lucky Chimney & Dryer Vent Services'. This is what we do in the winter months and in the Spring/Summer we do Custom Painting so we keep ourselves busy most of the year. I am glad that I have been able to provide my services here in Southern Oregon since 1989. The rest of my experience was done in California. Additional DBA - Busy Bee Custom Painting. If you’re asking yourself, should you pressure wash your roof, the answer almost always is no. The water pressure that the power washing machine generates could damage the shingles by forcing water underneath or causing them to loosen. Soft washing with a pump sprayer is the better and safer option.

Vinegar will not damage your roof shingles. Using vinegar to wash your roof is an effective and popular cleaning method for asphalt shingles. You can buy white vinegar with varying concentrations of acetic acid. Typically, 5% is all you need for a good roof cleaning, but if you’ve got stubborn stains or moss you can go as high as 25%.

If you’re painting your home or monitoring a job as it’s being completed, squash the issue ASAP if you notice paint is getting onto the roof. Keeping it clean is one of the keys to extending your roof’s life.

Removing latex paint before it dries is much easier and lowers the risk of damaging your shingles (more on that below). Simply spray the spot with a hose for one to two minutes to clear away the drying paint. In general, this is a good way to remove ugly stains from your roof without using chemicals.
