Complete slab stone and Quartz fabrication, and installations. Owner is 5th generation stone worker, and has been doing stone slab fabrication full time since 1982. We do residential, and light commercial jobs. We specialize in Marble, Limestone, and Soapstone (and all of the other stones as well!). Our clients are all from word of mouth referrals (except for Angie's list). We specialize in custom work. I invite you to call us for your work- large jobs or small ones, they are all important. We also do repair work, either in our shop, or on site if needed. Your broken table, or other stone may be salvaged. Just call and I can tell you if it is possible (I have personally repaired "Humpty Dumpty" at least 1000 times, and most of the time you couldn't tell he fell off of the wall!) I could go on, and on, and on, but I think you've read enough. For more info on our services, just call. If you don't get thru, keep trying as my voicemail gets filled up quickly some days, or send me an email. We are a small business, and focus on the little details which take longer. The final product, and customer satisfaction are the most important factors.

I work with brick, stone, block and tile. My specialties include: -Chimney repair -Garden walls and planters -Retaining walls -Patios -Restoration -Tuck pointing -Barbeques and outdoor fireplaces This is just a list of the most common projects I work on. Bottom line, if you have any job that requires a well established, experienced mason, I am confident I will meet or exceed all expectations you may have. Please call for a free estimate. I will also be happy to give you helpful consultation on any project you have. If you hire me for your project, there is no money required up front, no deposits needed. Payment will be collected upon completion of the job. I feel this gives the homeowner the confidence that the job will be completed honestly, fairly and on schedule. If you would care to see references from my previous customers, no problem at all, just ask. My goal is to provide you with the highest quality work, along with the confidence that you will be treated with the utmost care and respect. In the end, my biggest concern is to finish a job with an extremely satisfied customer. To that end, all of my work is guaranteed. CCB#106018

Fireplaces questions, answered by experts

If you haven’t had your chimney cleaned in some time, soot and grime can build up, making it difficult for the lever to release to close the flue. When this happens, locate the lever and clean it thoroughly. If this doesn’t help, consult with a fireplace repair pro to examine it for you.

If you have a chimney, you need a flue or chimney cap. The right covering keeps rain, debris, and animals from getting into your flue or chimney and causing damage. A flue or chimney cap also provides fire protection. The mesh insert around the cap keeps sparks from flying out of the chimney and igniting leaves and other materials.

In addition to flashing, a roof cricket can help divert water around your chimney so that it drains properly off your roof. It’s shaped like a double triangle and is installed behind the chimney so that falling water spills evenly down each side. This helps prevent water from accumulating behind your chimney, which can increase water damage and the risk of leaks.

The International Building Code (IBC) requires cricket installation if a chimney built after 2012 measures over 30 inches in width. Chimneys constructed before that date are typically grandfathered in and aren’t required to have crickets installed.

Deciding whether to buy a prebuilt fireplace kit or build one from scratch comes down to aesthetics, available space, and budget. Many homeowners like the convenience and lower cost of prebuilt options—around $1,500—versus the involved planning and construction of a larger fireplace. Another bonus: you can usually move prebuilt units. Custom projects are more common when homeowners have access to a larger budget and more area in the yard to place the fireplace.

While chimney caps are an essential component of maintaining a safe, long-lasting chimney, they have disadvantages, too. The mesh of the chimney cap clogs easily with creosote, making it more difficult for the necessary oxygen to reach the fire. Chimney caps also develop discoloration and rust stains over time, causing damage to interior chimney walls.
