"Very professional!!! I hired them to paint my dining room, stain kitchen cabinets, paint shutters and front door. Made an appointment with Rick and he gave me a quote on all of the jobs so that I was able to budget. He was very efficient and cleaned up after the work was finished. The work exceeded my expectations!!! I would DEFINITELY hire him again and recommend him to anyone."

"Never on time, promised to come back after countertop installation was completed to add stain to top part of cabinets. However, it was difficult to get a response from them, and when I did and tried to schedule it, there was no follow thru. Not with the daughter that was the main contact no longer works for the family **business** and her dad, David, will not respond."

Kitchen Cabinet Refacing questions, answered by experts

Yes, as long as the doors match the dimensions of your old cabinets and use compatible hinges. This method works best if you are using similar materials and door styles that match your existing cupboards. If you’re choosing significantly different materials, like moving from fiberboard to hardwood, then it’s usually best to replace the entire cabinet.

No, in most cases, you do not have to remove your countertops to reface cabinets. Since refacing primarily involves updating the doors, drawer fronts, and exterior surfaces, your existing countertops can usually stay right where they are, making the process quicker and less disruptive. However, if your counters prevent the access needed to remove doors and drawers, they may need to be temporarily removed. It's best to consult with a professional cabinet contractor to assess your specific kitchen layout during an estimate.

You can add glass to your existing kitchen cabinet doors with a few tools and some patience. We recommend following the DIY steps listed above, which include cutting a panel for the glass, cutting and adding the glass, and reattaching your cabinetry. If these steps seem too complicated or you’d rather have the peace of mind of a professional installation, hire a cabinet installation pro to handle this project for you.

If you're looking for ways to save money on custom cabinets, there are a few ways to cut costs without sacrificing beauty. For starters, comparing door styles to choose the most cost-effective option is a great way to save money on the overall project.

In addition, choosing a common wood species versus an exotic one will lower the price. Woods like oak and hickory are often more affordable wood choices, and the same goes for knobs, pulls, and other finishes where picking a commonly available style can reduce costs.

How much cheaper it is to replace your cabinet doors depends on your needs. If you’re looking to spruce up the look and feel of your kitchen, then you can make cosmetic adjustments to your existing doors, like installing new knobs or a fresh coat of paint. Cabinets can be some of the most costly parts of a kitchen remodel, but if there’s structural damage regarding your doors, then replacing them is your best option.
