Small jobs welcome

"We had our Bradford Pear tree removed. He did a wonderful job and removed our large tree quickly. He is extremely professional, a very nice man, and a hard worker. His prices are fantastic. When we realized our tree needed cut down, we were quoted 8,000 dollars to take down my tree by a local company in Norman. Samuel Augustus General contracting was able to remove it for 2000.00. Seriously, folks, he is the guy you want. If in Norman, dont waste your time with local tree service companies; they will destroy your bank account. Samuel Augustus General Contracting and excavation will get the job done correctly, quickly, and at a price that is incredibly fair. Please consider him for your tree removal or the other services he offers."

"A crew from Groundworks installed eight floor supports and encapsulated our crawl space last week. Jorge, Isaac, Kenny, Zacch, and Anthony did a great job! They worked very long hours to complete our project in a timely fashion and were great to interact with. They identified several plumbing and air duct problems and brought them to my attention. Jorge, the team leader, was great about communicating with me and keeping me well informed. The after job clean-up was very thorough. Jorge has been available by phone for my questions even after they have moved on to another job. These guys are very deserving of five stars. Also, I want to give a shout out to Anthony who did our inspection/estimate. He was very thorough and patient and made everything understandable. Another five-star guy!"

"The first morning she did the stripping, and the second morning, she applied the new coating.  She also replaced the worn out drain mechanism.  The tub looks great and she was very nice and professional.  Her price was the same as her quote.  I would definitely use her again and have already recommended her to a couple of people.

"Hernandez Handyman did an outstanding job repairing and adjusting my sprinkler system. They quickly identified and fixed a hole in the line and made precise adjustments to the sprinkler heads to ensure proper coverage. Their knowledge and expertise were evident throughout the process. What impressed me most was their efficiency and professionalism. Even while working in less-than-ideal weather conditions, they stayed focused and completed the job in a timely manner without cutting corners. The system is now working perfectly. I highly recommend Hernandez Handyman for anyone needing reliable and skilled sprinkler repair or general handyman services."

"Salesperson (Greg) came by and gave us a blow by blow account of what was happening to the dwelling and discussed what we could do to stablize the house.  Living on cul de sac, a lot of pressure after 40 years takes its toll on the foundation.  The crew arrived on the specific date and finished up the same date (on foundation). Concrete crew had to come back next day to complete the expansion joints.  Everything went well and clean up was as represented by the sales pitch.  A very professional and complete work ethic by the foundation installers and concrete crew.  Very pleased with results.  The 10% discount was eaten up with additional concrete work that we requested at the time of service.  All in all, a great experience on our part and I hope the company's."

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

A liquid drain cleaner can sometimes make a clog worse over time if you use it improperly or too much. The chemicals in drain cleaners can corrode and damage pipes, causing cracks and leaks that may cause further blockages. If the clog is more than the liquid drain cleaner can handle, the cleaner will simply add chemicals to a bigger overall problem.

No, it is not advisable to spray pesticides down the drain in your home. Most drinking water and wastewater treatment systems are not properly equipped to remove pesticides. Should pesticides infiltrate waterways, they can cause harm to plants, fish, or other living things. In most areas, pouring pesticides down the drain is illegal due to the potential harm it causes.

As with many appliances, proper maintenance is key to maximizing your garbage disposal’s life span. If everyone in your household is on board with proper care and maintenance, like running water while operating the disposal, you should get plenty of years out of your unit. Avoid putting the wrong food items down the disposal, including pasta, rice, bread, and more.

Using less toilet paper is the easiest way to prevent future clogs. Also, avoid flushing sanitary products, thick paper towels, or hair down the toilet. If you’ve been using a brick in the tank to reduce the water used to flush the toilet, take it out immediately. Bricks will eventually fall apart and clog your toilet drain. Keeping your toilet lid closed also helps avoid future clogs.

There are several common signs that your main sewer line may be clogged. Key indicators include multiple fixtures in your home draining slowly, gurgling sounds coming from drains or toilets, and water backing up into showers, sinks, or toilets. You might also notice water backing up from the plumbing system's drain cleanout, water in your basement drain, or unexplained wet patches on your lawn. Foul odors, such as the smell of raw sewage or rotten eggs, are another common symptom. The most reliable way to confirm a main sewer line clog is to hire a professional plumber to perform a camera inspection.
