"We contacted Mr. Cash and his company Oklahoma Roofing and Construction for the purpose of painting our house and also staining and our fence. The company and their crew were all professional and courteous from the time I contacted them all the way through the end of the job. Everything was done just as expected and quoted, and all in a very timely manner. They were very careful to prep all the areas that were to be painted and stained and they also cleaned up very tidy and professionally. Their pricing was extremely affordable!!! EVERYTHING WAS GREAT!!! I work in sales and customer service and I would refer them to any of my friends, family members, or neighbors. In my opinion they are a CLASS ACT COMPANY!!!"

"I called Dan Dickson and we discussed what it was I was wanting done. We scheduled a time and day for him to come to view and give me a estimate. When he came, he was extremely courteous and respectful, always calling me ma'am. After noticing a couple of water stains on the ceiling near one of the bookcases, he said he would paint the ceiling in addition to the fireplace brick and bookcases. I thought, "Wow. He would do that?" He quoted me a price and we worked out the details of the type of paint and what colors I wanted. He arrived about the time he said he would and went to work. By the end of the first day, he had the bookcases and brick primed. By the end of the second day, he had the bookcases painted, the ceiling painted and half of the brick painted. It was looking good; what a transformation! He finished by noon of the third day. Even though he initially told me the work would take two days, the little extra time didn't bother me. I was in no rush to have the work done. I was impressed with the quality of his work. He spent quite a bit of time preparing the living room: taping plastic around items, even the furniture and television; and taping up plastic as if it was a tent-like opening into the kitchen. You could tell he took pride in his work. I definitely would hire again, should I need painting services in the future. Price included four paint gallons of Behr Marquee paint."

"George and his team were amazing! He helped us select the right color, prepped it amazing, worked around our roofing, deck, and drainage schedules to keep everything moving. They picked up after themselves, were not noisy, and sought any decisions that would help us be happy with the results! Each step of the way, George discussed options to improve. I changed the plans late in the project by asking him to trim some black on the decks. He quickly came back with a revised schedule and cost that were reasonable. I found his overall price to be very competitive. We are very happy with the results. I recommend George and Heritage Painting, LLC without reservation!"

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Unless you’re using a 2-in-1 formula or painting over an existing coat of paint, it pays to apply a coat of primer ahead of your new paint. Decks see a lot of footfall and exposure to extreme and sudden temperature changes and moisture levels. The primer promotes better paint adhesion, moisture repellency, and a smoother finish, which means you’ll often need fewer coats of paint.

Choosing the best color for your home exterior should factor in longevity as well as your personal taste. To keep your house looking newly painted as long as possible, stay away from red paint. Although red homes pop and are quintessential for country-style barns, red paint tends to fade fastest in the sun. Go with earth tones if you want paint that best resists fading.

The best time to paint your deck is when temperatures are neither too cold (below 60 degrees) nor too hot (above 85 degrees). Always paint your deck when there’s no risk of rain. For fast-drying paint like acrylic or latex, ensure your deck can dry for at least four hours. Oil-based paints take longer to dry and may require 48 hours to completely cure.

Ideally, it's best to stain your dock once per year. Applying stain doesn't just keep it looking nice and new; it also helps extend the dock’s lifespan. Since you want to ensure water levels are at their lowest, it's best to have this project done by a professional dock repair service in the cooler autumn or early winter months.

Ultimately, overapplication of stain can compromise the deck's appearance, durability, and longevity. It may result in an uneven finish, with excess stain pooling, dripping, or drying into thick patches. It can also obscure the wood's natural grain and texture, detracting from the desired aesthetic. Moreover, excessive staining may not fully penetrate the wood, leading to poor adhesion and premature wear. Additionally, thick layers of stain are prone to peeling, cracking, and blistering as they struggle to bond with the surface.
