"I can't say enough about Miles and his crew. Their attention to detail in repairing my entire driveway, filled in all cracks around my house and spraying a protective cover. They treat your home as if it were their own. Miles gives a veteran discount on top of a very reasonable price for the work done. I highly recommend them if you ever need repairs to your house or drivewayâ â â â â"

Foundation Repair questions, answered by experts

You can use epoxy-based concrete fillers to repair small cracks and dents in the floor. For larger damages, remove any debris, then patch the cracks or holes with concrete repair products or resurface the entire floor. We recommend using fast-curing products that cure in four hours. You can also buy a pre-mixed concrete patch and leveler if you are only repairing parts of your floor.

Addressing gaps and cracks reduces heat loss and improves energy use.

Visible cracks, scaling, flaking, and uneven surfaces indicate a bad concrete job. Additional signs vary depending on the project. You may notice poor drainage or even exposed rebar. Quality issues result from using the wrong concrete, rushing the work, or inexperienced workers completing the job.

Yes, it is normal for a block foundation to crack. Some block foundation cracks are more serious than others and indicative of a larger structural problem. On the other hand, minor cracks may not be of immediate concern but should be monitored. Regardless, foundational cracks are not an uncommon response to wear on a structure from time and weather.

Many horizontal cracks in home foundations result from water and soil pressure from outside of the building or from a footing that is shifting. Under those circumstances, horizontal cracks are a structural problem that requires repair before they become worse and more difficult to fix. However, in very specific cases, thin horizontal cracks may simply be a cosmetic blemish due to concrete shrinkage.
