"The cleaning went fine. He showed up about 15 minutes late but called ahead to let me know he was running late. The living room carpet was very dirty from pet traffic and stains. Overall, he got the carpet much cleaner. I was disappointed that the coffee table wasn't moved for cleaning, as I ended up with a dirty rectangle where it was sitting, and we do frequently slide it around."

"This company was awesome! I had only called to get a quote to get air duct vleaning, but the price was to good to pass up. Even though it was short notice they showed up & got the job done. The staff were very nice. I will definitely refer them to others! I will be calling them for my next project of carpet & tile cleaning."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

A stair runner can be cheaper than a carpet and will definitely save money over the cost of refinishing hardwood floors and stairs. The price depends, however, on the fabric and quality of the runner. A wool stair runner can be more expensive than an inexpensive polyester carpet and vice versa. Keep an eye on your budget, knowing that the higher quality the carpet and the carpet pad, the better the carpet will wear over time.

Yes, nylon carpets are suitable for homes with allergies due to their hypoallergenic properties. Nylon fibers are resistant to mold and mildew growth, minimizing allergen accumulation in the carpet. Additionally, nylon carpets are often treated to repel moisture and stains, further reducing the risk of allergens and promoting a healthier indoor environment for allergy sufferers.

There are a couple of color options to consider when installing carpet in high-traffic areas (like entrances and stairways). Medium-toned colors and patterned carpets can work well in these parts of your home because dirt and stains can blend in easily. Dark carpets will also conceal marks and spills, but they show lint and other light-colored debris. Consider a medium brown or tan for your high-traffic areas. Either way, it’s best to avoid paler shades, like white and cream, which get dirty easily.

Stain-resistant carpet might be worth it for your household if you have children or pets and expect spills to happen. While it may cost more than you expected upfront, you may save money in the long run if you have to replace your carpet less frequently (thanks to stains not absorbing down into the fibers).

When deciding whether to repair or replace your carpet, consider its age, the extent of the damage, and its location. It's often best to replace the entire carpet if the damage is extensive, such as large sections needing replacement, or if it's caused by water, which can lead to mold problems. Similarly, if your carpet is nearing a decade old, replacement is likely the more logical choice. On the other hand, consider repairing your carpet if the damage is localized to one spot, like minor rips or snags, the carpet is still relatively new, or the damage is in a low-traffic area of your home.
