"New to the area we arrived at our house to find a very overgrown yard with weeds 3-4 feet tall. Matthew & his crew were able to come in, same day & get our front & back yards manicured. We also have them provide bi monthly yard work. We also had a massive water leak which Matthew was able to repair, again same day. It was 3 burst pipes. He was very professional & got the job done! We also just had Matthew & his team come out & clear brush/limbs from our yard/alley way. They showed up on time, did the work as we requested & hauled everything away. I call Matthew for all of our household/yard needs. They have done amazing work & their pricing cannot be beat ! I highly recommend them."

"I recently hired Eddie Magee with Punchlists to make repairs to some of my clients' homes. As a realtor, trusting your contractor is very important. I couldn't be more impressed with the quality of work, reasonable pricing, and reliability. He always responded quickly, arrived on time, and was fully prepared with the necessary tools and materials. Before leaving, he ensured everything was done to my satisfaction, and my clients were also pleased with his work. If you’re looking for a skilled, reliable, trustworthy handyman, I highly recommend Eddie with Punchlist. I will definitely be reaching out for future projects!"

"Guerrero Landscaping did a very nice job on our multi-level retaining wall. They were fast, efficient, and very conscientious throughout the project. Their charges for the project were right in line with others who bid the work. Would hire them again."

Board and batten is a type of wainscotting that uses wider boards that are placed vertically, and it has a much more rustic aesthetic than wainscotting. Common wainscotting styles are raised-panel, flat-panel, and beadboard. Wainscotting is more intricate and will typically use more elegant, subtle trims compared to the more farmhouse-inspired boards of board and batten styles.

General contractors use subcontractors to complete specific parts of a construction project. For example, a general contractor might have construction experience but need a subcontractor to install plumbing lines in a new home.

Homeowners insurance may cover damaged floor joists, depending on your policy. Insurance typically covers issues from storms, fires, or water damage from burst pipes. However, don't expect your insurance company to cover damage from wear and tear, poor maintenance, or termites.

It is common for a contractor to ask for a down payment before starting a project, especially for jobs that require purchasing materials and equipment or hiring a crew. The deposit amount can range from 10% to 50% of the total job cost. While a request for up to 50% is not unusual, a contractor should not ask for more than that, and you should never pay for a project in full before the work has begun. To protect yourself, always discuss payment terms before starting and have a written contract that outlines the project timeline and expectations. Additionally, be sure to hire reputable contractors and check their licensing and insurance before the project begins.

Labor plays a significant role in the installation of butcher block countertops. Depending on who you hire, your location, the customization level of the project, and whether the wood is already finished, you may pay a professional between $10 and $150 per square foot to install a butcher block countertop. On average, expect the per-hour price to run between $60 and $100.
