"In 2011 we had our roof replaced by Shingle King.  Ty was upfront with all costs, was the best price out of all the quotes we had and did a great job.  Our roof looks amazing and we have never had any issues since.
In November, 2014, we had our siding for our entire house replaced as well as new gutters.  Ty brought over any samples we needed and helped with all the questions we had before deciding on colors and siding.  The siding took some time, but only because it was the middle of Thanksgiving week.  We had some issues with our windows being two different sizes (not because of Shingle King)  and Ty and his workers were able to help figure out the best way to cap the windows so they looked similar.  Any issues or concerns that we have, we email Ty and he always responds right away.  His work crew cleans up when they are done with the project and Ty will come by and make sure there are no nails around the house.
Our house looks amazing and we have received many compliments on our new siding.  We recommend him to many of our friends and neighbors.

"The following is a review of the work of Fry Roofing and Construction, Don Fry, Owner who repaired and then re-roofed
my 1950's ranch style home.  I interviewed 8 different roofing contractors in seeking the right contractor for the work
needed to not only re-roof my house (44 bundles) but also perform reconstruction on portions of the ridge of the main house.  Don Fry gave me an extremely fair price which was not the highest nor lowest bid on this project. He gave me the longest warranty on labor of all of the contractors which was an indicator to me of his integrity and commitment to his company's workmanship.  I was impressed from the start on what I sensed was the personal integrity of the owner who would stand by his work, did not ask for a down payment, and guaranteed that he understood what it would take to avoid damage to my landscape and property and insure the safety of my pets throughout the course of the work.  Only after I was "110% satisfied" would Don discuss payment after the job was completely done.  The crew was lead by an extremely professional foreman who had total control over and respect from the crew he was leading.  It seemed to me to be a well organized, well managed and respectful crew that performed almost non-stop for 3 1/2 days on my roof.  At the end of each day the crew cleaned up the property with little evidence on the ground of all of the work that went on during the day up on the roof.  Congratulations on a job well done.

Skylights questions, answered by experts

There are four main types of lighting used in homes: ambient, task, accent, and decorative. Within these categories, there are a number of fixtures to choose from including ceiling-mounted lights, floor lamps, under-cabinet lights, track lighting, and more.

Choosing the fixture that’s right for you depends on your home design and the area you’re looking to illuminate.

Yes, you can install skylights on an existing roof, and it’s a common service that many homeowners opt for, especially on older homes built when skylights weren’t as prevalent. The installation process will be a bit more involved, and the design and planning process will take longer, meaning you’ll pay more to install a skylight on an existing roof than you would in new construction. The process involves cutting a hole in the roof, moving rafters, if necessary, and installing and sealing around the skylight.

Local window and door specialists, glaziers, and roofers should all install skylights. You can also do an internet search to find companies that specialize in skylight installation near you. Keep in mind that skylight installation is very complex and can be dangerous without the proper tools and safety precautions, so we don’t recommend this as a DIY project.

Leaks are the top concern for skylights, often due to improper installation or worn-out seals. Over time, water can seep in and cause major damage to your home’s ceilings and walls. Other common issues include condensation, which leads to mold, as well as physical damage from weather or debris. If they’re not sealed properly, skylights can also bring unwanted heat in the summer or cold in the winter, affecting your home’s energy efficiency and tacking on extra dollars to your bills.

Most homeowners insurance policies cover skyight damage that is caused by hail. Hail damage is considered a covered peril under most standard insurance policies. However, this only applies if your skylights were properly installed. Also, insurance policies vary, so be sure to check your individual policy to see if skylight hail damage is covered.
