Customers say: True professional

"Project went very well. Mario and his crew worked long hours for 3+ days (rained one day) to get the project completed. Couldn't be happier with the wall they built and the clean-up effort they did when finished."

"Got a quick estimate over the phone and Jamie came to my house and completed the work MXP did and excellent job with sealcoating my driveway for a reasonable price with quality work. Had my driveway done by another company two years ago and my driveway has never looked so good. Will call again for my driveway needs. Love it"

Small jobs welcome

"The Cuellar men (father and son) exceeded all my expectations. I was a bit apprehensive because they didn’t have a branded truck and uniforms but their price was 5% lower than the next best offer (and 1/3 less than the highest quote). They arrived on time and performed the work as quickly as promised. The finished product is absolutely flawless and I am thrilled. One additional point. My driveway had a weird slope hat always annoyed me but I didn’t think there was anything to be done. But Cuellar identified the issue Nd talked to me before they started work about how they were going to handle it. What they did made my weird slope look like a normal driveway. Cannot recommend them enough!"

"The response from the owner has been fabulous. A whole team showed up. They pointed out a roofing issue that will need repaired. The quality of their lighting is great and they guarantee the price for 3 yrs. Call them if you are in need of Christmas lighting. I think they also provide mowing services. Nice people!"

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

You should contact your driveway installer before winterizing a newly installed driveway. Winterizing it before the asphalt or concrete has fully cured can damage the driveway. But in many cases, you don't need to winterize a newly installed driveway anyway since it's likely freshly sealed and won't have much damage yet.

New asphalt typically needs 24 to 72 hours to dry before it can handle light foot traffic and careful driving. Although it may appear solid after a few days, the full curing process, where the asphalt reaches its peak strength, takes much longer—generally from 30 days to a year.

During this extended curing time, the surface remains relatively soft and can be damaged by heavy vehicles, sharp objects, or high temperatures. To protect your investment, it's best to avoid parking heavy machinery on the asphalt until it has fully cured.

The exact time required for drying and curing depends on several factors, including the weather, the specific asphalt mix, and its thickness. For the most accurate advice tailored to your situation, consult with your asphalt contractor.

Yes, it is possible to pave over an existing driveway, but whether it's the right choice depends on several factors. If the underlying structure of your current driveway is still strong, concrete or asphalt resurfacing can be a cost-effective way to prolong its life. However, if your driveway has significant issues like potholes, deep cracks, or other inconsistencies, it is best to remove the old driveway and start from scratch. Key factors to consider include the current driveway's condition, the compatibility of the new material, the added thickness and height, and the necessary surface preparation.

Professionals restore the surface to a fresh, attractive finish by applying a new, even sealant layer.

The decision to repair or replace your driveway depends on the extent of the damage. If your driveway has a few small cracks, a simple repair will do the trick. If you see larger cracks and potholes, it may be time to consider resurfacing or replacement. Resurfacing is a great option if more than 25% of the surface is damaged, but if the damage is extensive—deep cracks or significant sinking—it’s best to replace the driveway entirely. A new driveway, with proper care, can last decades while patching or resurfacing might only hold up for a few years before needing more attention.
