"They not only got to my house in time for an "open house" I was having that same weekend, but sent me a video of their work since I couldn't be there to see the work done myself. When I stopped over later to pick up mail and put away the trash bins, I couldn't believe how beautiful my house and driveway looked. The concrete on my driveway and vinyl siding on the top of the brick on my house looked brand new! Wow! Fast, courteous and super great work. I will definitely use them again if I ever need services like this in the future and would highly recommend them."

Yes, technically, you can pressure wash the paint off of brick. However, you run a much greater risk of damaging the brick and causing serious problems. If you go this route, you’ll still need to carefully choose and apply a chemical paint stripper before washing, following all instructions on the product packaging. Set your power washer to a low pressure to avoid damage.

It’s important to avoid power washing your house during freezing temperatures because the excess water can freeze on surfaces and cause damage. You should also avoid doing this task during heavy wind or rain because the water spray becomes less effective and could spread debris. Don’t power wash your home if your siding is cracked, loose, or peeling because the high pressure can worsen the damage. Lastly, if your home has delicate materials like softwood or stucco, consider gentler cleaning methods to prevent structural harm.

Brick takes longer to dry than less porous materials like concrete. If you are waiting to spot clean, a full day of mild weather should do the trick. If you are waiting to paint or apply a finish or sealant, give it three to four days to ensure the brick is absolutely dry as a bone. You don’t want any residual moisture whatsoever before laying down paint or sealant. 

The amount of pressure required to wash your siding depends on the material. Vinyl siding, as well as brick and stone exteriors, can handle high pressure of 2,500 to 3,000 psi, especially if you’re not worried about damaging paint. Wood and aluminum siding needs a gentler approach and shouldn’t face more than 1,500 psi.

It usually takes about two to four hours to pressure wash a 2,000-square-foot home. The exact time depends on how much dirt there is, the type of siding, and whether you’re doing it yourself or hiring a professional pressure washing service. A DIY job can take an average of six to eight hours, but you should plan for it to take an entire day. A pro can get the job done quicker.
