"I hired Refloor to come back and do my basement too. The installation was delayed due to stock shortage but the floors are in and they are beautiful. I hired my own painter to stain the moldings to match the floors. The floors look so much like real wood. Great job!"

"My historic home had many design and installation challenges, but the team did an amazing job. They ended up moving my plumbing, building out a few walls, and built the floor under my shower pan. "We met with Adam on a Thursday, and the team started our garage floor the next Tuesday. If you have a dark carpet and are going for a lighter look, you should replace it, rather than dyeing, since you can only go darker with dye. If your stains are too heavy to mask with carpet dye or the carpet is more than 10 years old, you should also consider replacing it.

If you also need to know how to fill the gap between the floor and the baseboard, it's best to use a flexible, paintable latex caulk. Clean the area thoroughly to remove dust and debris. Then, apply a smooth bead of caulk along the gap using a caulking gun, and use a caulk-smoothing tool to press and smooth it into place. If the gap is large, you may need to insert backer rod, such as a foam filler, before caulking. Once dry, paint the caulk to match the baseboard for a clean, seamless look.

It takes about one to two days to remove carpet and install laminate flooring for small and medium-sized rooms. A larger room may take an extra day to complete. If you’re replacing flooring throughout your house, expect closer to one to two weeks, depending on your home’s square footage.

Plywood is the best type of subfloor for a mobile home, though if you’re installing flooring in a bathroom, you may want to install a vapor barrier or use a moisture-proof subfloor material like Amdry. OBS is similar, but it can swell when moisture is present. 

Either way, old mobile home subflooring made from particleboard can cause issues with your joints. If you’re replacing your subfloor, it’s best to upgrade to plywood.

It is normal to glue carpet down, though it’s not the only or the most popular method of installing carpet. Modern techniques include tack strips and stretching the carpet, but you might still find glued carpet in older homes or a home with a DIY’d past. Removing a glued-down carpet will be harder compared to other methods of installation.
