Matt Baron's Maid Service always sends the same workers and they are excellent. I truly appreciate that because they know my house and also I trust them with my keys and anything like financial information or jewelry lying around. They've been working for me for over ten years and have never broken anything, nor has anything come up missing. (Matt does know a retired museum restoration expert who will repair any valuable items that get broken, which is a service I have never even heard of before. I don't know who pays for the repair, but at least it's there. In the past, I've had maids from other companies who broke something and hid it by throwing it away.) Also, they do things the way I want them done. I have a lot of antiques, and they treat everything with great care. If I want a little extra task, such as laundry folded, they are happy to do that at no extra cost. My basement is very messy, but if I ask, they will clean down there and not charge extra. The other thing, is they don't move things around so I can't find them when they leave. This is another issue I've had with past workers. These ladies are both smart and conscientious. I'm in the process of selling my house and the appraisal home inspection was performed on Saturday, May 17th. The appraisal came back requiring some repairs to peeling and chipped paint on the garage and basement walls. As with most home inspections it took several days to receive this information and I was informed at 4pm on Friday, May 23rd that the repairs were needed. I had no problem with the need to repair these items, but the timing couldn?t have been worse since it was late in the day on Friday when I received this information and this also happened to be Memorial Day weekend. We are looking at a closing date of June 10th and with these repairs that could jeopardize the closing date. My wife and I were going to be out of town the weekend of Memorial Day, so getting these repairs done in a timely fashion seemed bleak on Friday when I receive the news that the repairs were needed.
I immediately jumped on Angie?s List and started looking for someone to help me repair these items quickly. I found good reviews for Paul Driver Construction & Handyman Services on this site and put a call out to Paul. I immediately went to voice mail and figured that getting ahold of anyone this late in the day would be hopeless. I figured I wouldn?t hear back from anyone until May 27th, the Tuesday after Memorial Day slowing down this urgent need for help. A couple hours later I got a call back from Paul and he was out of town in St. Louis. As soon as I heard that I wasn?t expecting much, but Paul assured me that he had a couple guys in Cleveland that work for him and that I didn?t need to worry and I would be hearing back from one of his guys, Gino. Paul said they were available and could get the job done for me and that I would be happy with their work. On Saturday morning I got a call from Gino who was able to meet me at my house within two hours to assess the work. I schedule the work for 8am on Tuesday, May 27th and couldn?t have been happier working with Gino. He and another person showed up at my house on time and performed the job as expected. They were both friendly, easy to deal with and very courteous. These guys made this entire process painless and eased my mind. Gino was straight with me, didn?t try to upsell anything and met my timely needs to complete these repairs quickly. Their work was great and met all my needs.
I highly recommend Paul Driver Construction & Handyman Services and will be calling them again when I need their services in the future. I also had calls out to 3 other service providers on Friday and I heard back from no one else over the weekend and only one of the providers called me back on Tuesday, May 27th. Paul?s guys are the real deal and seemed very appreciative to do the work for me. Selling a home is stressful enough, but trying to find someone quickly at the last minute to do repair work is beyond stressful. Paul and his team removed that stress and really eased my mind on getting the processes of completing the sale of my house rolling again.

The sofa in particular was in shambles, falling apart, stuffing and springs all over. I was going to trash it - but Keith insisted he could fix it! That it has a good frame and he saw the potential in it! The man has a gift. He took something that should have been in a dumpster and turned into a high end piece of furniture that will last a 100 years! I absolutely love this company and just commissioned him yesterday to work on the 3rd project.... another old beat up sofa! I can't wait to see it! :-)

Howard Hanna bungled our first deal ending up costing us more money and time. We felt they were concerned more about their commission than about their customers. After finding our new house, we were set to close literally one month after contract signing. We had everything lined up. We were already credit-checked & pre-approved by our bank. Down payment and house insurance in place. House inspections complete. Our bank's mortgage deal (APR, terms) was terrific but the "rate special" was a limited time offer. Full loan application had been submitted. All that was pending was the bank's appraisal. Then WITHOUT our knowledge or permission Howard Hanna hands our home inspection report directly to the bank's appraiser which HH is neither obligated nor required by law to do. The inspection report freaked out the bank's appraiser. The bank's appraiser dropped the value of the house $20,000 AFTER repairs. The bank balked and declined our loan (property value was no longer worth the loan value, even after down payment). Our loan officer confirmed they'd still give us money to buy a house - just not THAT house because of that appraisal. NOTE: For those who don't know, an APPRAISAL is different than a HOME INSPECTION. One is a cursory check to determine general sale value for the bank. The other is meant to find as many defects in the house as possible and report them to the buyer so they walk into negotiations with as much knowledge as possible. The two aren't the same nor are they for the same reason! The end result was that it cost us another $350 application fee to another bank, we lost that great mortgage rate special and relationship with that bank, and had to wait an additional 6 more weeks as our whole financing process had to be restarted. Plus our credit scores dropped as a result from having additional hard inquiries to our credit reports (which became a nuisance later as we started looking for financing to remodel/renovate parts of the house) In retrospect, here are some other "warning flags" we should have acted on. Howard Hanna (as selling agent) endorsed the use of the seller - an unlicensed individual - to do electrical remediation work on the house himself. We only wanted a few things fixed. We were going to see to the rest and requested to negotiate which ones and by whom they got fixed. This didn't happen. There was an obvious lack of communication between both buyer & seller agents. This seemed to happen a lot. We were solicited and sometimes pressured to use Howard Hanna services (i.e. finance company, escrow, insurance) or service providers personally-endorsed by the Howard Hanna agent (i.e. home inspector, mold remediator, radon remediator). After we found and used some of the top-rated service providers off Angie's List (multiple all-A reports), our own agent belittled us with snide remarks and comments about us not using her personal contacts. As if our home inspector shouldn't have been reporting all the defects he found like we hired him to do. Sorry - apparently he's protecting our interests more than you are! (And yet he made far less in commission off this deal... hmmm!) (Un)fortunately for us, we wanted the house. Otherwise, we would have dumped Howard Hanna long ago. But since both parties were so far into the deal when all these negatives starting popping up, we saw it through to the end - happy with the house, but completely dissatisfied with our home-buying experience through Howard Hanna. To add more insult to this whole experience, the final customer appreciation and congratulations shown from our Howard Hanna agent was an e-mail forwarded from the escrow office once the title transfer was complete. That's it. Neither she nor any one of her office mates apparently had the time to personally hand us the keys to our new house. No personal handshake, no happy greeting or smile, no fanfare - nothing. We picked up the keys in an envelope that was left at a totally different branch office. We were expecting neither balloons nor party favors nor champagne. But we think having an agent personally take the time to hand us the keys to our new home would probably have been the right thing to do, especially after everything we went through. Protect yourself - your dream home, your hard-earned money, and your peace of mind. Our suggestion is to stay clear of Howard Hanna. Our experience with Howard Hanna indicates that they may be gigantic but that does not mean they will provide good, competent service looking out for your best interest. In our eyes they weren't deserving of the commissions they received from this deal (more than $10,000 in this case) and that we should have looked for better customer service elsewhere. The branches involved were the Chesterland and Brecksville offices."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/oh/brecksville/cathy-andre--howard-hanna-realty-reviews-8071193.htm"},"position":9},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Coach Electric","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"OH","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Valerie P."},"reviewBody":"I called Coach Electric on a Tuesday to see if there was any time within the next week or two that some small repairs could be made at my house (which is for sale). He was able to complete all of the repairs (replacing two bathroom outlets with GFCI outlets, and grounding the water meter) in a timely fashion. I was extremely pleased with the quality of work as well as Dave's responsiveness and willingness to work on my projects on a Saturday so that I would not have to worry about the VA appraiser coming to inspect the house before the repairs had been completed. It went extremely well. Jenny Strasser was the realtor we selected after a search on Angie's List and the roster for the Ed Huck Team. Jenny's personality and attention to detail meshed well with ours. She listened regarding what we set in place as our shopping parameters while helping...
They arrived a little early. The two women set to work and worked hard for the entire period. They used the environmentally friendly cleansers I supplied, although they did bring their own in case I wanted them to use theirs. I appreciate that because I have cats and I don't want them to...

Home appraisals can come in low, even during an ultra-hot real estate market. Here’s what to do when a home appraisal is lower than the offer you receive.
