People face all sorts of difficulties in their lives. Friends and family are there to help, but often the problems we face are more difficult to solve. Psychological Resources is there when professional guidance is needed. We help find solutions to personal problems which may include anxiety, depression, unknown worry, marital or family problems, illness or injury, loss of a loved one, workplace stress or loneliness. For children and youth, these problems often relate to learning difficulties, behavior disorders, or substance abuse. We help people identify and address these and other problems. Ours is a family practice, helping children, adolescents, adults and seniors. Established in 1988, the staff at Psychological Resources consists of licensed psychiatrists, psychologists and clinical social workers with broad experience. Besides two office locations in Northwest Ohio, our providers consult at The Toledo Hospital, St. Vincent Medical Center, St. Luke's Hospital, and the Wood County Hospital. We are also panel providers for most insurers and managed care organizations (HMO's and PPO's).

Animal Fencing questions, answered by experts

When you’re deciding to take on a fence installation project, you’ll notice various types of wood to choose from. Take into consideration your geographic region and your budget when making your selection. Cedar is a popular choice when looking for a budget-friendly option, as it’s resistant to insects and less likely to rot compared to other types. Redwood is another tried-and-true choice because of its durability, but keep in mind that it is more expensive than other types of wood.

You should stain both sides of your fence to get the full benefits. Fences often fall along property lines, so you may want to save a buck by leaving your neighbor’s side in the dust. If you do that, all you get is a slightly better view. Moisture and UV rays can still sneak in through the side that’s unpainted or worn down and damage your fence. Rot and rust will spread, even if you can’t see it from your side of the lawn.

While cedar and pine are two of the most common wooden fence materials, everything from redwood to bamboo is also available. You can also purchase pressure-treated wood, which better withstands water damage and the threat of pests. The best wood for your fence will come down to your budget, local climate, and preferred look.

In the vast majority of cases, chain-link fences are less expensive than wood fences. Installing a wood fence costs anywhere from 20% to 30% more than a chain-link fence, or an average of $3,100, whereas a similarly sized chain-link fence will average around $2,400. Even with add-ons and additional protective finishes, a chain-link fence is very likely to cost you less than a wood fence. The only exception would be a split rail wood fence, which can cost about half the price of a chain-link fence or less.

You can DIY a stockade fence installation, but prepare to put in some good sweat equity. For the best results, carefully plan the exact location of your fence before you break ground. In particular, carefully map out your post locations before setting them in concrete. Be sure to call your local utility company before digging to avoid damaging underground wiring and causing severe injury.

On the other hand, installing stockade fencing on your own might sound too overwhelming. It’s certainly time-consuming and labor-intensive. Besides the hard work, you must install it properly to avoid gaps. Unless you’re confident you can get the job done right, hiring a privacy fence installer near you is the way to go.
