"Great to work with. Came out before job started to make sure they could do the work. Replaced sink to farmhouse sink cut the destroyed granite and save me a lot of money by not trying to sell me new granite and being able to restore the old slab. They cleaned up when finished. I would hire them again if needed."

"Robert tuckpointed our chimney and re-built the crown. He matched the existing mortar color exactly. He sprayed sealant over the mortar. The job took about a day and a half.  He erected a scaffold from which to work. The work was done very carefully and professionally. He also tuckpointed a few other cracks he found in the stone facade of our house. He was careful to not damage our gutters, roof, siding, plants or lawn. He cleaned up completely afterwards.

We were very pleased with the job and recommend him unreservedly. We will recommend him to our neighbors and friends."

"Great. The service man, John called ahead and arrived on time as scheduled and did a great job. He gave good information as to how long it would take for the drying to be complete and when to replace the furniture. Although an estimate had been given over the phone, after doing the work, the price was lowered because the square footage was less than anticipated! We will have Downey back whenever we need our carpets cleaned."

"BOB THE REMODELER/TILER WAS GOOD ABOUT RETURNING PHONE CALLS. THIS WAS A RELATIVELY SMALL JOB, AND HE ACTUALLY CAME ON A SATURDAY TO TAKE CARE OF IT. SINCE BOTH I AND MY HUSBAND WORK, THIS WAS VERY CONVENIENT FOR US. THE BATHROOM WAS NEAT WHEN HE LEFT IT AND HE DID A VERY NICE JOB OF THE TILE WORK. WE WERE QUITE HAPPY WITH THE QUALITY OF HIS WORK AND HIS CUSTOMER SERVICE."

Granite Restoration questions, answered by experts

The restoration process often involves a team of professionals to address various types of damage. Depending on the situation, this can include general contractors, electricians, plumbers, mold remediation experts, and specialists in smoke and water damage.

In many cases, it’s worth it to restore stone. Stone restoration generally costs less than replacing the stone entirely, helping to save on the cost of your project while still giving your home’s stone a polished appearance. However, if your stone is very cracked or crumbling to the point of compromising the structural integrity of your home, you may want to consider replacing it. Stone flooring costs range from $6 to $20 per square foot on average.

You can’t change the color of the stone, but you can update granite countertops without replacing them by painting them. Because granite is a porous material, you’ll want to seal them first before painting them so that the paint doesn’t hurt the surface. This is important because you don’t want to devalue your counters by damaging the original surface; even if you don’t like the color now, you or a new homeowner may want to remove the paint someday and return them to their original color. You can also cover them with

Buffing will only remove scratches at the surface level of your flooring. You may also need to apply hardwood floor wax to restore the wax layer. To remove deeper scratches, you’ll need another floor repair method like sanding; however, if you sand the floor, you’ll also need to stain and seal it.

Buffing is a less expensive and less time-consuming alternative to other floor repair techniques, but it’s only ideal for removing surface-level scratches and damages. Floor-buffing machines work to gently smooth out the floor’s top layer rather than removing it the way that sanding does.

This process is ideal for gently worn floors, but it won’t have the desired impact on floors with severe damage. On the other hand, sanding fully strips the floor’s top layer so damages beneath the surface are accessible to remove or repair. Since the process is more involved, it requires more time, tools, and experience to achieve the best possible results.
