"Joseph’s Mosquito Control is your one stop shop. I had a stink bug problem and Thomas was very courteous and I haven’t seen another stink bug since! Worth every penny and he was very reasonable which is hard to come by anymore. Would highly recommend for all pest control needs. Very knowledgeable and easy to deal with"

"Wonderful. their trained dog located the room where the bed bugs were. The heat treatment destroyed the bugs and eggs. Spraying in the rest of the house assured none escaped. Harry and Shannon are professional, knowledgeable, and personable. We highly recommend them."

"Terminix was quick to respond and to get out here for a termite inspection, which is what we needed. However, they signed us up for pest control and said their agent would be out to care for us right away. So far haven’t seen him yet. Will give 5 stars if that turns out well."

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

You should never try to remove a bee's nest yourself because it can be extremely dangerous. The amount of bees that can live in a hive depends on the type of bee, but honey bees can have up to 80,000 bees living in a hive. People who are allergic to bees can have life-threatening reactions from a single sting. So, it's best to leave bee nest removal to the professionals who have the knowledge and equipment to do so safely.

Yes, mulch can attract pests. Spiders, centipedes, and ants are some common pests that are attracted to mulch. You can avoid infestation by laying your bags of mulch in the heat for a few hours or by using an inorganic mulch, as it’s less attractive to pests.

Unfortunately, we do. Bed bugs sense our heat signature, particularly the altered heat signature associated with sleep, and exit their hiding spots to feast.

You can use commercial repellents to help deter rodents, but they often have mixed results. A better solution is preventing rodents from getting under your home in the first place. Using steel wool or foam sealer, plug all potential entry points like gaps and cracks in the foundation.

Also, consider installing hardware cloth or wire mesh over vents, utility openings, and any openings under the porch or foundation. Regular inspections and maintenance will aid in early detection and prevention, ensuring a rodent-free environment beneath your house.

Hanging wind chimes or motion-activated speakers near your home may be an effective way to deter woodpeckers, as sudden movement and sound often scare birds away. You could also try using reflective decorative items such as pinwheels or mirrors or placing decoys of large predatory birds in your yard. If these measures don’t deter the woodpeckers, you may need the help of a bird removal pro.
