"A very professional, reliable and reasonably priced company. They truly went above and beyond to provide outstanding service. I am very pleased with the job they did restoring and staining my deck. They returned for a final inspection and put the deck furniture back. I highly recommend this company. Thank you again Campbell Painting!"

"All aspects of the work were done professionally. We had our deck/ramp power washed and stained with a solid color stain. We were kept well informed regarding timing and received a lot of assistance in choosing a method for staining. The work was done professionally, promptly, and to our specifications. All employees from the owner to the painters themselves were pleasant, polite, and very professional. The ramp looks beautiful. They provide a warranty and even a free "touch up" service. Work was done quickly and quietly and clean-up was thorough."

"Mike replies promptly, is friendly and professional and does good work. After the first job, I hired him again to seal my deck. I had gotten other estimates and he was much more reasonable in price, almost half the cost for the 2 bedrooms. Price is for the deck."

"Doug did great job keeping me informed of the date work would be performed. He quickly replied to questions I sent him via email. Donny & Will did a great job staining my home. I did have to have them return to re-stain a section of the house that showed brush + roller contrast. They avoided damaging plants in area of the work! They listened to my concerns, doing their best to accede my concerns."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

If you have wood decking, there are several common deck problems that you might encounter. For example, your natural wood boards may fade over time due to things like sunlight, weather, and debris. On top of that, some types of wood decking can rot, grow mold, and attract destructive pests—including termites, carpenter ants, and woodpeckers.

An exterior paint job typically lasts between 5 and 10 years, though this can range from 3 to 17 years depending on several factors. The longevity is influenced by the quality of the paint and primer, the quality of the application, the local climate, and the type of surface being painted. For example, paint on wood siding may need to be redone every 3 to 7 years, while painted brick can last up to 17 years. Aluminum siding often needs repainting every 5 years.

Here's the deal with leaving used rags covered in oil-based stain lying around in a pile: Depending on the conditions, these rags can take just an hour or up to a few days to combust. The source of ignition is caused by trapped heat that can be compounded if the rags are near a heat source.

The opposite is actually true: Wood stains tend to appear lighter when they’re fully dry. However, stains may darken as they weather and oxidize with age. Stains might also darken on surfaces left in direct sunlight, as UV rays can break down pigment particles and cause them to darken over time.

Yes, you can and should paint or stain pressure-treated wood to help prevent the boards from cracking. However, you must wait for the wood to dry out completely before applying any finish. Freshly treated wood can take weeks or even months to dry; a common recommendation is to wait three to six months. To check if the wood is ready, perform a simple water test: drip some water onto the surface. If the water beads up, the wood is still too wet and needs more time to dry. If the wood absorbs the water, it is dry enough to be painted or stained. You can proceed with building your deck or fence while the wood is still wet, but you will need to wait to apply the paint or stain.
