"Very nice person was here a bit before scheduled times explained everything when finished and told me to contact him if there were any problems but nothing for me to complain about fast efficient and quality work and service Iâ ll be using him again when needed. Oh almost forgot he fixed some soffit and facia that birds had loosened and was sagging on my laundry room. Never mentioned it in post service conversation but it didnâ t fix itâ s self. Goes beyond what heâ s hired for. Amen we need more people like him. Thank You"

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

If a big freeze catches you by surprise and you don’t have any deicer to hand, you can reduce the chance of taking a tumble by laying gritty, anti-slip materials. Some natural, readily-available options that don’t melt ice but offer traction underfoot include sand, wood shavings, kitty litter, and fireplace ash.

Some commercial services use sand when clearing ice, but that’s to add instant traction, not to melt the ice. While you can scatter kitty litter, sand, or similar substances on steps, paths, or porches to improve safety during icy conditions, they won’t help melt hardened ice. Rely on salt or other de-icing methods to fully melt away stubborn ice.

The cost of removing snow from a roof averages between $300 and $700. However, this cost can range from $200 to $3,000, depending on the size of your roof, the amount of snow, and roof accessibility.

Since snowfall can range from light powder to heavy and condensed snow, part of the price of roof snow removal depends on the amount and type of snow. For 12 inches of snow, you can expect to pay between $200 and $2,000 for this job. However, for 24 inches of snow, that price rises to $300 to $3,000.

While DIY is possible for small areas, professional services provide fast, efficient removal for large properties or heavy snowfall.

Yes, most states require that snow removal companies be insured under workers' compensation. This protects the employees financially if an injury were to happen (and when dealing with ice and snow, it’s possible that injury could occur). In addition, most states require snow removal companies to be covered under general liability, which would help cover the cost of any property damage incurred during the removal process.
