"I was impressed with the professionalism of these guys. They came on time, assesed the situation and quoted the work. I had them do a moderately complex job (remove old whole-house fan, install new). They kept everything clean, did the work and took away all the old stuff. I will use them for future electrial work wihout hesitation."

"Very professional and personable. Made all of the arrangements with inspectors and power company. Came with all of the required equipment! Gave very explicit instructions on how to hook up the generator to the power box. Everything works beautifully. They cleaned up afterwards and it looks good. Very happy with this company."

"I have called Paul twice now and both times he was absolutely fantastic. He fixed exterior lighting outside my house for a very fair rate and even got another light working that we were told would never happen. He also did the lighting and electric in a bathroom renovation we did. It was done to perfection. Highly recommend."

"Ryan helped with a recent remodel, running new wiring to an addition in my home. They installed new outlets, and 5 new lights. The work was done so well and they cleaned up after themselves! Professional & punctual, 10/10 recommend."

Generator Install questions, answered by experts

To reduce AC startup power for a whole-house generator, install a soft start kit or hard start capacitor, which lowers the initial surge by gradually ramping up the compressor. Using a smart load manager can also help by staggering startup loads, preventing a system overload and future costly repairs.

Setting up utilities on a vacant property usually takes at least a few months, or between 6 weeks to 16 weeks. This process requires working with the local planning and zoning department, hiring a building contractor or engineer to design the utility layout, securing permits, laying the lines, and connecting the utilities.

It’s usually better to repair your generator if it isn’t working properly, as it will typically be much more affordable and should yield similar results. Generator repairs cost around $300 on average, while installing a new whole-house generator costs around $5,000 on average. The only exception is if you know your generator is reaching the end of its useful life, usually between 30 and 40 years. If you have an older generator, you could face multiple repairs in the coming years, which might mean that a full replacement will be more cost-effective over time.

Yes, installing a generator usually increases your property value because buyers are getting the added peace of mind knowing they’ll be able to maintain power through blackouts. In most cases, you should see close to a 100% return on investment (ROI). Keep in mind that home generators usually need a permanent foundation, and installing a concrete slab will likely raise your property taxes slightly.

Natural gas generators are designed to run for extended periods of time, such as power outages during a natural disaster. Since there’s no limit to the supply of natural gas, they don’t need to stop for refills. However, generators do need maintenance, including pauses to check and add oil. Constantly running them will also cause a lot more wear and tear, leading to a shorter lifespan.
