Chuck was absolutely amazing! He provided detailed explanations about everything in the house also many tips and pointers as to what to look for during final walkthrough. He went above and beyond in every area of the house. Provided a detailed report pretty quickly after the inspection was completed. Highlighted every detail and every item that needed fixing. He put everything in terms anyone would understand. Great guy and a class act.

Having Chuck take you around a home inspection is truly informative and educational. He's got a sharp eye and has seen just about everything. He showed up on time, helped to keep the agent and seller at bay, and spent three hours checking each outlet and HVAC system and making sure to leave no space uncrawled or vent unchecked.

Chuck is clearly a professional who enjoys his job. I have experienced several different home inspections and have to say he is very knowledgeable and thorough. We spent over 2 hours "learning" the house and basically received a detailed repair list for a house we bought as a TLC project. Chuck confirmed most of my initial observations and pointed out a lot of what I had missed during the initial walk through. He also has a good sense of humor, putting up with my thirst for knowledge when I was always a step ahead of him. Highly recommend and from what I hear, not a favorite with some real estate agents, due to his email oriented inspections

My husband and I are first time home buyers who hired Chuck to do a home inspection on the house we had made an offer on. He was extremely knowledgable, helpful, and understanding (and very funny). He made sure we were comfortable in knowing that we could ask as many questions as we needed and he was willing to go over everything in detail so they we knew what the problems were and what needed to be done to fix them. He knew exactly what to look for, and left no stone unturned. We are confident that we got all the information we needed from the inspection. We would absolutely recommend this business to anyone in need of a home inspection, especially first time home buyers, and he will be the first person we call should we be looking to purchase another home in the future!

Chuck was terrific. He was extremely detailed throughout the inspection looking into every corner of the house. He also explained what he was doing throughout the inspection and answered all the questions I had which was great as a first time home buyer. He was honest, got our report back to us in a very timely manner, and clearly had our best interests in mind. He even had some great suggestions on what we could eventually do to improve the quality and value of the house. I would recommend Chuck to any home buyer.

Punctual. Personable. Thorough. Honest. A buyers inspector. No nook or cranny left ignored. Has all the necessary tools to get the job done. Had a 3 hour inspection and received a complete report in 2 days. Also did a radon test with results less than a week later, even during a holiday. He identified a major issue with the siding that could have unknowingly cost us tens of thousands of dollars and moisture in the ceiling of the finished basement! The house was bigger than expected but he still gave us the discounted Angie's List price.

I definitely recommend Chuck as your home inspector for any house. He helped me with a 3900 sqft house I'm buying in Ulster county and we just took a couple of hours. He is extremely knowledgable with almost everything, we were able to go thru all the appliances, A/C units, heating systems, water filters, roof, basement, deck, electric system, etc etc etc... He tells you what could be your potential issues and how to either avoid them or fix them in a timely matter to save you some bucks; also he tells you some tricks on how to better do some maintenance yourself instead of learning the hardway or contracting someone expensive. He also knows every store around and gives you nice recommendation on which ones you better use. I was kind in a hurry so he was also able to accommodate a time for me which I'm really thankful for that. I really enjoyed working with him since he is also a nice guy and at the same time very professional.

Chuck was very thorough with his inspection and made sure I understood everything he was putting in the report plus other things he noticed about the house that didn't rise to the level of going in the report. He made sure I understood everything about the home I was thinking of buying. Your realtor is going to recommend inspectors, but take that recommendation with a grain of salt. Your realtor doesn't want an inspection to slow down the purchase, so they're not necessarily going to recommend the most thorough inspectors. Chuck was positive, but also realistic and wanted me to know the full picture about the house. He also recommended some common-sense fixes I could do myself and made some good referrals to contractors. I followed up with Chuck to make sure I understood a couple things in the report and he happily walked me through them.

Chuck was a pure pro. He came out to our cabin right on time, and his recommended septic team was already on their way to locating the tank. Chuck gave me his honest assessment on everything and options I had before completing the purchase. He also gave me helpful tips on how to improve the efficiency of the home in the long term and keep it safe from things like animals, falling trees, water runoff, etc.

Chuck is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and was ready to go immediately after we shook hands. Within the first few minutes he pointed out details about the roof and the nature of the brick exterior that I most definitely would have missed, not being in the business. This was a Victorian home over 100 years old which needed a great deal of attention and I ultimately decided that this home is better suited to someone with more experience restoring homes. If you accompany Chuck throughout the inspection, and manage to keep the agents away from you, you will learn a great deal (it's always tricky having conversations with agents nosing around). It is a three-hour master class in home maintenance and well worth the cost even if you don't proceed with the purchase. Obviously, if you've come this far you are serious about buying, and an inspection by Chuck will be a valuable tool to let you understand what it is you are purchasing. The written report was very thorough, 28 pages long, including pictures, and covers everything you can think of, gutters, electric, plumbing, heating, you name it. I would definitely hire Chuck again and give him my highest recommendation.

Chuck was absolutely AWESOME before, during, and especially AFTER the inspection. He arrived before we did, and thoroughly evaluated the exterior of the home and was ready to start teaching me about what I was buying as soon as I showed up. He pointed out many good (and a number of concerning) features of the home, and explained how to maintain the good and offered suggestions on how to how to fix or mitigate the other issues. He immediately pointed out a number of questionable roofing issues, and took the time to explain what they mean in the short and long term. As soon as we entered the property, he was able to visually notice 2 concerns with systems that weren't visible to an untrained eye... based on patterns of soot deposits on the ceiling, he correctly diagnosed and pinpointed a deficiency in attic insulation AND a problem with the boiler burning oil. Chuck spent over 3 hours walking through all of the rooms, systems, and parts of the interior and exterior of the home. Then he sat down with me and explained what everything meant, and offered constructive thoughts on prioritizing the issues, and helpful ways to mitigate any of the small items. After the inspection, he immediately e-mailed me a copy of the report. And in the weeks that followed as we renegotiated our contract, he made himself available to me for additional questions or thoughts. Armed with the correct knowledge, we were able to renegotiate with the seller, and for the low cost of $600, we will probably save $15,000 off the price of the home. Don't go in blind to a new home purchase! Let Chuck give you peace of mind that you know what you are buying and help you to make a good decision. I can't recommend him highly enough! --adam

He was very thorough which we were very pleased with since my boyfriend and I are skittish new home buyers! He made us feel completely at ease and explained everything he inspected in a way that made us novices understand. I'm hoping I never have to buy another house, but if I do, I know Chuck is the first person I would call for an inspection!

The service Chuck provided was professional, accommodating and informative. He discovered a lot of issues with the property, which would have been expensive to fix. Based on his detailed inspection, we ended up not purchasing -- thus avoiding a home with lots of flooding/drainage and asbestos issues. We'll definitely be hiring again for our next home inspection!
