"This is not the company that you want to plow your business parking lots. I attempted to discuss what spots needed to be done better and the driver wouldn't even stop to talk. All he did was yell from his truck cab that he didn't have the time and then attempted to hit me in the parking lot, telling me that I better move. I don't know but that seems like a form of vehicular assault to me...? They are a shabby landscaper as well. They cut corners and will even cut holes in your expensive garden hose with their weed wackers if you leave it out."

Mulch and Topsoil questions, answered by experts

If you’re using crushed stone or gravel as a base material, then yes, you should compact it to prevent movement of the top layers. For instance, if you don’t compact crushed stone or gravel and you lay pavers on top of them, the pavers will shift over time. However, if you’re using gravel or crushed stone as a top layer for aesthetic purposes, you might not want to compact the materials.

It depends. High-end colored mulch can be fairly costly. However, you'll have to replace less-expensive natural mulches, like pine needles and cedar mulch, more frequently.

The cost is balanced out somewhat, though, as although you'll have to replace colored mulch less often, you'll have to replenish nutrients in your soil more frequently to make up for the decrease in organic matter and nitrogen from the mulch.

Yes, pea gravel is good for driveways as long as your driveway isn’t built on a hill or any type of slope where it can slide. It’ll settle on a flat surface and create a suitable driveway over time, though some spreading initially will take place. If you're wondering how to make a gravel driveway in a high-rainfall area, using pea gravel could help you to cut down on costs needed for extra drainage solutions.

Costs for lakefront landscaping are influenced by project size, choice of plants and materials, labor, and any additional features or structures desired. Projects can range from a few thousand dollars to extensive transformations costing much more.

A yard of crushed concrete costs between $20 and $50. A single-car driveway will need 1.5 to 2.5 yards of crushed concrete, putting your material costs between $30 and $125, which is much less than you’ll pay for most driveway paving methods. Your total could vary based on the thickness you’re going for, and, of course, total prices will increase with added square footage for driveways that fit multiple cars.
