"Rich and his team did a fantastic job on waterproofing my basement. I had many folks over for a quote and the vast majority of them spent hours of my time and quoted me very large prices on installing a waterproofing system. Rich came over, explained what work could be done, quoted a simple price, and left it at that. The crew was professional, timely, friendly, and thoughtful. They even provided sone minor fixes to some outside concrete items free of charge which saved from having to call out another crew for additional work. I highly recommend R. Davies if you want a professional crew who can get a job done efficiently and honestly."

"We just finished a big project, big for us, and couldn't be happier with the workers. Dave has been a great help clarifying an issue and the foreman Steve has kept up up to date with every move they are making. The workers Joey and Tony were polite and did all they could to keep the dust and dirt to a minimum. That was a tough job working in a crawl space and having to enter and exit the house in the snow and bad weather. Other craftsmen (that's all I can call them, they were so in tuned to what they were doing) came in during the week to lend a hand, and they too were top notch. I will say, I am sure not everyone wouldn't mind the dirt tracked through the house, but they made every effort to clean up the last crumb. Thirty years ago Woodford Bros. added a large addition to our house and couldn't think of any other company that we would think of using. We are happy to refer Woodford Bros to anyone!"

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

Vinegar is better for an AC drain line because it’s less corrosive and won’t damage the pipes. It’s also a safer and easier product to use. Bleach should not be used on your AC drain line because it can corrode your pipes and harm the evaporator coil in your air conditioner.

It is okay to use a drain auger on a toilet, just make sure you are using the correct tip size. The auger is a plumbing snake with a protective sleeve to protect the porcelain toilet bowl from getting scratched. Using too large of an auger can cause the snake to loop back and damage the inside of the drain and plumbing.

Yes, you can pour water down the toilet to help it flush. For each flush, you’ll need 1 to 2 gallons of water for newer toilets or 3 to 5 gallons of water for older toilets. Rather than dumping the entire bucket in all at once, pour the water in slowly for the best results. If you’re pouring water down the toilet to help it flush after a clog, only use 1 gallon of hot water.

To keep your toilet from clogging, you can use less toilet paper. You can also use a liquid toilet plunger to break up any clogs and keep the toilet drain and pipes clear. When it comes to a clogged toilet, the best route is prevention by using less toilet paper and making sure the mechanisms are all working properly.

A small amount of diluted bleach is okay to pour down a garbage disposal. As part of your weekly garbage disposal maintenance, use 1 teaspoon of bleach with your concoction of ice cubes and lemon peels. Turn on the disposal and run the water until the blades chop up the ice cubes.

Any more bleach in your disposal can harden oils and greases in your drain, which can cause problems. Always wear gloves when working with bleach, and know that you really don’t need bleach at all—vinegar, baking soda, salt, and ice should do the trick.
