Small family owned construction company, specializing in excavation, and clearing projects. I have work as an operating engineer for 6 years now on large projects such as the bills stadium and the Buffalo Airport. Before that I dug pools, ponds, amd did clearing projects for one of the largest farms in Erie County.

We specialize in decks, framing, additions and poured concrete walls. We have over 10 years of experience with carpentry, framing, and concrete. I started off pouring concrete walls in Breckenridge CO to support my skiing habits in the winter. Concrete then turned into framing/carpentry building high end homes in the mountains. I since have moved back to the finger lakes region where now instead of supporting my ski habit, I am supporting my family.

"Off Piste Construction was absolutely amazing to work with. They made sure every decision was discussed with the pros and cons and very knowledgeable! Already planning my next plans with them! Definitely recommend giving them a call!"

Concrete Resurfacing questions, answered by experts

You'll find a slurry of natural and synthetic polymers, rubbers, epoxies, and resins used to bond old concrete to new concrete. The right bonding agent depends on the method of concrete pouring you choose and whether you're adhering concrete over concrete or concrete over sand and gravel. Some concrete resurfacing mixtures contain bonding chemicals as well.

A concrete overlay should be 1/4 of an inch to 2 inches thick to form a strong layer on top of a base slab. The thickness depends on the condition of the existing concrete and the depth of your design and imprints. You should repair and clean the surface before applying a primer and a layer of fresh concrete.

Concrete leveling is absolutely worth it if you have sunken concrete slabs and want to restore them to level, especially if the slab is part of your home foundation. Concrete leveling is less than half the price of replacing concrete sidewalks, patios, walkways, and pool decks, and it’s about a quarter of the cost of replacing a foundation. If you also treat the underlying problem, it can be a worthwhile and permanent solution.

Clean regularly, reseal every 2-3 years, and avoid abrasive cleaning agents to preserve the finish.

Concrete can crack from general wear, improper installation, or in response to uneven support from the soil underneath. Small, thin cracks on the surface of aging concrete are usually a result of normal wear and tear, while cracks on new concrete more likely indicate a problem with installation. Larger cracks or uneven steps can signify a much more severe issue. A concrete contractor should be able to diagnose the cause and repair concrete cracks for you.
