"Anton did a very nice job cleaning and staining our log home. It had been neglected by the previous owner and needed a lot of work. He also replaced rotted siding on our barn, fixed some significant structural defects and stained it. A nice job and finished in a timely fashion. Anton was here supervising the job all the time. Would definitely hire again"

"The workers and the office support coordinator have all been very polite, responsive and easy to work with. They responded positively to touch-ups needed. They are professional painters and did a very good job with power washing, repair and scraping trims, sanding, priming and painting of the entire exterior of 2 houses including all trims and sidings. They were clean, efficient and on schedule. They kept me updated throughout the project."

Customers say: True professional

"Edgar and his crew performed very professionally and with great communication. Despite all of the weather delays, he managed to squeeze in some work when they could. He always kept me abreast of whether or not when his crew would be able to start work. I appreciated the constant communication because we often wonder if the contractor we hire is someone we can trust. Edgar has proven to be trustworthy and reliable. His price was more reasonable than three other contractors. His work is impeccable and he also pointed out future repair work that would need to be taken care of soon. I will be definitely using him in the future."

"Richard painted our project himself and did a great job. Our job involved moving furniture and dodging angry dust bunnies as he painted an entire house of base moulding and window/door casing. His work was top notch and he did it with a smile each day. Thanks, Richard!"

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Beyond liquid rubber, homeowners can use sealants, stains, membranes, or tapes as waterproofing options. Oil-based or water-based sealants soak into the wood, creating a moisture-resistant barrier. Waterproofing stains—available in transparent, semi-transparent, and solid colors—add both protection and style to your deck. For heavy-duty waterproofing, deck membranes and waterproof tapes can be applied under the deck boards to direct water away from the structure below. Whatever method you choose, clean and prep the deck first to ensure the best, longest-lasting results.

Stain is meant to be absorbed by the porous wood, allowing some of the natural grain to show through. With that in mind, you don’t want to add more stain than the wood can absorb, as you risk covering up its natural markings. Generally, two coats is the maximum you should do, although very dense hardwoods may only be able to take a single coat.

Choosing the best color for your home exterior should factor in longevity as well as your personal taste. To keep your house looking newly painted as long as possible, stay away from red paint. Although red homes pop and are quintessential for country-style barns, red paint tends to fade fastest in the sun. Go with earth tones if you want paint that best resists fading.

Whether you can paint over your existing paint depends on what’s on there. Most of the time, you’ll want to sand down or scrape off the paint that’s currently coating your surface. Epoxy paint, for example, won’t let new paint stick to the surface. Latex paint is more forgiving and will accept a new coat, but a primer is recommended if you’re switching colors.

Rags used with oil-based stains are highly flammable and can spontaneously combust in the right conditions. To reduce the fire risk, throw them in a metal container after use and add rocks on top to secure them. Add an inch of water and seal the container. Take the rags in the container to a hazardous waste factory as soon as possible.
