"Al was friendly, knowledgable, and ensured the floors were completed to our satisfaction. What I loved was didn't need to worry about anything. They came, moved out furniture, ripped and hauled away our old floors, did the install, cleaned up, and moved our furniture back. The floors came out beautiful. I highly recommend him and his business."

"This is how a business should be run and it should be viewed as a role model. Customers are looking for 4 things, fair pricing, scheduling promises kept, excellent customer service and any problems that might arise to be fixed immediately. Floor Coverings International met all of these criteria for us. I dealt with Ron and he made things so easy and clear and the companies expertise in matching the right wood floor to existing flooring was spot on!!! I am a 100% satisfied customer and would highly recommend this company."

"Project: Remove old wood flooring in existing 286 sq. ft. kitchen and laundry areas, and replace with 12X12 cleft cut slate. I am a professional designer who has supervised interior construction across the US and in 12 countries overseas. Sergio submitted the lowest written bid out of five contractors. The team was punctual, neat and exacting in the difficult task of cutting out the old wood flooring in the kick spaces underneath existing kitchen cabinets. They cut out and patched defective wood sub-flooring and then deftly applied Ditra matting before laying the cleft cut slate, using a hi tech system of spacing and leveling the slate. Throughout the entire process, precision and professionalism was their mantra. I will gladly and highly recommend this team for any and all work involving tile or stone work. Flooring Installation FAQs, answered by experts

Carpet tiles come with a preexisting adhesive backing, which means installing them is as simple as peeling off the paper and sticking them down where they need to go. In other words, no. You won’t need to purchase any separate glue to get your carpet squares situated. It’s already built into the carpet tile itself.

Your room doesn’t need to be completely empty to restretch a carpet, but you’ll need enough space that you can move around furniture to access the wrinkled areas and the wall where you’re reattaching the carpet. A contractor will move your furniture out of the way before they start the job, but you can save money by moving your furniture before they arrive.

If you’re using a carpet runner instead of a traditional carpet, pay attention to your width measurements. Instead of measuring the total width of your staircase with 2 added inches for foldover, simply measure the width you’d like the runner to cover. Runners generally come in standard sizes, so you may need to approximate what would look best in your space.

Installing carpet padding is mostly a matter of measuring the room and cutting the carpet pad to size with a utility knife. You can save some money on carpet installation costs by doing it yourself. Before installing the carpet padding, you should install the tack strips around the room’s perimeter and prepare the subfloor by cleaning and making any necessary repairs. Then, unroll the carpet pad and cut sections as needed. Staple the carpet pad to the subfloor along the edges, leaving the tack strips exposed.

Plywood is the best type of subfloor for a mobile home, though if you’re installing flooring in a bathroom, you may want to install a vapor barrier or use a moisture-proof subfloor material like Amdry. OBS is similar, but it can swell when moisture is present.

Either way, old mobile home subflooring made from particleboard can cause issues with your joints. If you’re replacing your subfloor, it’s best to upgrade to plywood.
